When Sony first launched its next-generation PlayStation 5 console, it did so during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the need for people to practice social distancing, much of the PS5 stock has been sold exclusively online. This persists to this day, with retailers rarely offering in-store PS5 restocks. However, video game retailer GameStop is set to host a huge PS5 restock that will reportedly include all its stores in the US.
GameStop has sent out an email to customers informing them of its latest PS5 restock, which will happen in-store on Saturday, April 23. However, anyone interested in trying to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 console through this latest restock will need to keep a few things in mind.
For one, this latest GameStop PS5 restock is exclusive to the company's PowerUp Rewards Pro members. GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro is a membership program that customers can sign up for to get various perks, one of those being first dibs on new console stock. However, simply being a PowerUp Rewards Pro member will not guarantee one a PlayStation 5 during the restock on April 23. Supplies will still be very limited, so prepare accordingly.

The other thing to keep in mind is that customers won't be able to purchase a standalone PS5 console through the restock; they will have to purchase PS5 bundles instead. There will be four PS5 bundles available for shoppers to choose from, with two coming with a standard PS5 disc console and the other two coming with a PS5 Digital Edition console. The first disc bundle includes a PS5, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, and a black Pulse 3D Wireless Headset. The second disc bundle includes a PS5 console, Horizon Forbidden West, MLB The Show 22, a $50 PlayStation Network card with bonus MLB content, and a $50 GameStop gift card. Pricing information for these bundles is unavailable at the time of this writing.
The first PS5 Digital Edition bundle comes with the console, a Cosmic Red DualSense Wireless Controller, a PowerA DualSense Charging Station, and copies of Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. The PS5 Digital Edition console can't play discs, so one would assume those games would be digital download codes, but that's not specified, and the provided image shows physical boxes. And finally, the second PS5 Digital Edition bundle comes with the console, a White DualSense Wireless Controller, 12 months of PlayStation Plus, a $75 GameStop gift card, and a PowerA DualSense Charging Station.
