Disappointing news, Ranters.  It seems the long awaited new batch of games for XBLA's Game Room has been delayed.  And not just delayed for a day.  Daniel Maher, Europe's Xbox Live Editor, broke the news in a tweet:

"The latest batch of Game Room content has also been delayed until further notice - I'll let you know once a new date is confirmed."

Delayed until further notice?  When's that gonna be?  I was all set to play Pitfall.  The US Xbox team had this to add:

"We’re working to bring you additional Game Room titles as soon as possible! We appreciate your patience, and we’ve been thrilled by the community response so far. We want to provide you with the best experience possible, so stay tuned!"

Could the delay have anything to do with the recent layoffs at Game Room developer Krome Studios?  No one is talking.

Ranters with long memories will recall that Game Room was expected to launch with over thirty games, and receive updates of several games per week for a long time to come.  Sadly, not a single new game has been added to the service since its March 24th debut.

How long this situation will last remains unclear, but for me, well... let's just say that there are only so many more sessions of Mountain Madness Super Pro Skiing I'm going to be able to play before I need some new content.  How do you all feel about the delay of new games for Game Room?

Game Room is available now for Xbox 360 and PC from the Xbox LIVE Arcade.
