It's a new week, and that means another episode of Game Rant Arcade. With a week full of new video game releases, underscored by Returnal and New Pokemon Snap, Cameron and Anthony have a ton discuss on the show. It's one of the longest episodes yet, so sit back and strap in.
Kicking things off, many Activision studios are now working on Call of Duty: Warzone, the most recent being Toys for Bob. Toys for Bob has been behind a number of high profile projects, like Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and the Spyro trilogy remaster. While there have been no mass layoffs, the change has seen some departures from the company.
On top of that, IO Interactive is possibly working on a fantasy game. Supposedly, the game will even be an Xbox-backed title, adding yet another fantasy game to Xbox's roster if the rumors turn out to be true. Fans already know that IO Interactive is working on a James Bond game, so the fantasy project might just be icing on the cake.
Additionally, Konami has backed out of E3. The company confirmed that it has several key projects in development, but that it won't be making an appearance at the digital showcase this year. There's a number of games that fans would love to see the company announce, though it does seem like a major missed opportunity.
Next, Elden Ring's release date has once again entered the conversation, as different interpretations of a financial results call fueled speculation. It's been years with no solid updates on the project, with the only real scraps of information being the occasional leak. One can hope for news at E3, but it's hard to say if that will come to fruition.
Finally, Discord has announced a partnership with PlayStation, which will bring the voice chat software to consoles for the first time. Cameron and Anthony are split on how significant the move is, but it's definitely going to be convenient for console gamers in the long run.
