Game Rant Arcade is back again for the relatively calm post-E3 week, though there's still plenty to discuss on this week's episode thanks to the conspiracy-raddled minds of the internet. With plenty of happenings going on around the industry, there's a fair bit to dive into in episode 27.
Kicking things off, Dead Space is rumored to be making a comeback, with an announcement supposedly coming at next month's EA Play conference. The rumor has been corroborated by several credible sources, some of whom say that it will be more of a reboot than a proper sequel to the franchise. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but Dead Space is a critically acclaimed franchise, so a comeback seems believable.
Next up, Bethesda sort of apologized for Starfield's console exclusivity, acknowledging that it might upset some PlayStation fans. There's not much more that can be said about the situation, though Todd Howard did state that it will lead to a more polished product. Fans have also begun to assume that more Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox consoles as well, with the likes of Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout being speculated on.
Meanwhile, a Hideo Kojima conspiracy theory took hold of the internet over the past few weeks, with fans of the developer believing that he was secretly working with Blue Box Games to create a new Silent Hill project. It's been an absolute debacle of conspiracy theories, largely driven by a complicated web of coincidence and speculation. The situation has been entertaining to watch, but gone a bit far.
Finally, George RR Martin recently spent some time talking about Elden Ring, revealing that he took inspiration from Lord of the Rings. Apparently, the author's work on the project has been done for a few years, with Martin providing some worldbuilding to help bring the game to life.
