TellTale Games announces the release date for the season finale of Game of Thrones, as well as revealing that the entire first season will get a retail release.

It's been over 90 days since TellTale Games last offered any news related to the Game of Thrones season finale, The Ice Dragon. Thankfully, the long wait has finally been lifted and the studio has now offered plenty of news related to not just the upcoming season finale, but also for the entire first season itself.

Game of Thrones will finally get its long-awaited season finale this November 17th, meaning the wait between episodes 5 and 6 will clock in at almost 4 months. Fans have been wondering what will happen to the likes of Gared Tuttle and the surviving members of House Forrester, as the second-to-last episode of the season provided gruesome calamity in true Game of Thrones fashion.

After the events in A Nest Of Vipers (which had nothing to do with the Martells, oddly enough), the majority of House Forrester has been left in several perilous situations, none of which we'll spoil for you here. The Ice Dragon is expected to complete several of their storylines introduced throughout the first few episodes, and set things in place for House Forrester's predictable foray into a second season. TellTale Games hasn't released a trailer for the season finale, but we expect one will come a week or so before the episode is due to arrive.

The announcement was also accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video from members of the HBO Voice Cast, including the likes of Natalie Dormer, Iwan Rheon, and Emilia Clarke. Securing their voice acting talents has been one of the biggest factors in making Game of Thrones feel so immersive, and their performances in each episode have been a highlight for the entire season.

Fans of the show should certainly try out TellTale's series, which falls in canon with the HBO adaptation of the books. For those who still haven't played it, TellTale Games has just announced that the first episode, Iron From Ice, has been made free across all consoles and mobile devices, which gives gamers a taste of the game before buying into the entire season. The inaugural season will also be receiving a retail release on November 17th, which coincides with the launch of the final episode.

The first season of Game of Thrones will come to a climax on November 17th, and is available digitally for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PC, iOS and Android. A full retail release will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and in Europe on PC.
