Game of Thrones is a renowned epic fantasy series written by George R.R. Martin which was brought to TV with an adaptation on HBO, and it's the latest franchise to get the "demake" treatment. Oftentimes people create "demakes" of things by making them look like PS1 games, and now fans know what that looks like in Game of Thrones. Please note that this article will have spoilers for Game of Thrones.

Recently, a video was posted on Reddit titled "Game of Thrones but it’s for PS1" which features a scene taking place in the world of Game of Thrones in the style of the PlayStation 1. Many fans who commented on the "Game of Thrones but it’s for PS1" video claimed that it was so convincing, they were originally convinced that it featured a genuine PlayStation 1 game akin to the original Spyro games and the Star Wars: The Phantom Menace game.

However, rather than merely re-creating these franchises, this video also takes a humorous spin on them by utilizing iconic imagery and audio from Game of Thrones and the video game industry. For instance, even the loading screen that appears before transitioning to the dragon fight evoked laughs by featuring Ned Stark’s rolling head which creates a humorous contrast between his grizzly execution in the ninth episode of season 1 in the show. Seeing how Game of Thrones characters could be represented in video games was something many fans praised the video for.

Aside from poking fun at an iconic character, the "Game of Thrones but it’s for PS1" video does not create a one for one recreation of the show. Instead, it has an NPC reciting mournful dialogue during the dragon fight which provides a hilarious contrast that proved to be a pleasant surprise for many fans. However, the event that was commented on the most and proved to be most unexpected was when Jon Snow is blasted by fire while accompanied by the iconic Lego Yoda scream. However, seeing the interpretations this fictional Game of Thrones video game took is perhaps what evoked the strongest reaction from fans.

Aside from faithfully re-creating the iconic look and feel of Game of Thrones and PlayStation 1 hardware limitations, the "Game of Thrones but it’s for PS1" video also manages to be hilarious. This was done by putting a humorous spin on iconic imagery like the fan favorite Ned Stark and his rolling head and by taking creative liberties like with the NPC’s nihilistic dialogue.
