In addition to the many awards given at The Game Awards 2019, many new revelations were also made public for the first time. 2020 is looking to be an amazing year for gaming, as The Game Awards 2019 has given us a fairly vivid picture of what is on the horizon. Therefore, here is every game revealed at the event.

No More Heroes 3

Nintendo fans had much to be surprised about with the reveal of No More Heroes 3, coming out exclusively for Nintendo Switch in 2020. The trailer started off appearing reminiscent of an old grainy VHS tape showing an alien crash landing. When a cute and adorable alien toddler known introduces himself to a young boy, and innocently promises to return to earth to visit him again in 20 years time, no one expected the alien to come back as a merciless killer hellbent on destroying everything around him to much amusement, as the trailer skips ahead to the future. Already, there is much intrigue to learn more about this seemingly two-faced alien character, and how the series' hero, Travis, will fight off this alien invasion in No More Heroes 3.

Final Fantasy 7

The much anticipated Final Fantasy 7 revealed a new trailer at The Game Awards. The game looks beautiful, as expected, and appears true to the original game's story and characters, with the journey of Cloud Strife fully fleshed out with vivid visuals. It also provides insight into a potentially deeper story, more so than the original. The remake of Midgar, the game's world setting, will do more than just recycle the original, as it will include new bosses and changes to old bosses.

Magic: The Gathering MMO ARPG

Magic: The Gathering will be releasing an action RPG in the form of an MMO, known as Magic: Legends revealed. Not much was revealed, other than a cinematic trailer with Magic's Planeswalkers on full display. Goblins, giant spiders, werewolves and other beastly creatures were shown. Arc Games is already allowing players to sign-up for an upcoming beta, so fans should be able to get their feet wet shortly, as Magic: Legends is slated for release in 2020 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Xbox Series X: Holiday 2020

Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox Series X, previously known as Project Scarlett. The controller retains its overall design and aesthetic in similarity to Xbox One's, but with some slightly new ergonomics. Also included on the new controller is a share button for recording games and taking screenshots, similarly to Sony's DualShock 4 controller. The overall console, Xbox Series X, promises a huge leap in power, and appears as a black rectangle stood up vertically in terms of its architecture design.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 - First Xbox Series X Next-Gen Game Reveal

Ninja Theory unleashed Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 upon the audience at The Game Awards, showcasing in-engine footage of what it will look like while running on Xbox Series X hardware. It certainly made a positive impact on those who may be wondering what sort of jaw-dropping visuals can be expected for Microsoft's next-gen console. Hellblade 2 portrayed a very folklorian aesthetic to its world setting, keeping in compliance with its predecessor, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, an award winning action-adventure game set in a dark, Celtic fantasy setting.

Godfall - first ever Playstation 5 console exclusive revealed

Godfall, for the next-generation Playstation 5 console, was unveiled by Gearbox displaying in-game footage as an intimidating citadel structure standing over the land below with a three headed demon of some sort flying around it. Keith Lee and Steve Gibson, the game's producers, promised it would redefine the action RPG genre, describing Godfall as a looter and slasher game enshrining heroic knights with 3rd person melee combat. Not much can be said about the game, but knights in thick steel armor branding big swords, with runes engraved in them, were impressively on display here, and clearly looked like next-gen visuals. The game will include both solo and coop gameplay.

Bravely Default 2

Squre Enix, along with Clay Tech Works, unveiled Bravely Default 2 for a 2020 release on Nintendo Switch. It displayed some impressive looking visuals utilizing an anime and hand-drawn style of graphics, painting a vivid and colorful world for eyes to digest. For those unfamiliar with the series, it represents a JRPG heavily inspired by classic Final Fantasy games, including four-character parties and turn-based combat allowing players to build up their powers through multiple turns, or unleash multiple actions in a single turn.

Sons of The Forest

Sons of the Forest was unveiled, appearing as a direct sequel to the hit survival game known as The Forest. It looks frightening as ever, with the game's main character branding a tattoo stating "Fight Demons," by which he may be the son of Eric, the original hero in the first game. The premise of The Forest comprised of a lone character stranded in a remote forest after his plane crashed, as players attempt to survive a harsh climate and mutated cannibals living in the area. Judging from the quality, fear-factor, and unique gameplay setting of the original game, fans of horror should have much to look forward to in Sons of the Forest.

Two Stand-Alone League of Legends Games

Two new League of Legends stand-alone games were revealed to much surprise at The Game Awards. The first game, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, will be coming out on console and PC platforms, and is made by the same makers as DarksidersRuined King is a single player experience allowing the exploration of the Shadow Isles within the League of Legends universe.

The second game, Convergence: A League of Legends Story, stars Ekko, a character with the ability to manipulate time. The game is slated to be a platformer, but expected many puzzle elements utilizing time travel, and a deep and engaging storyline to expand the League of Legends universe.

Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance

Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance will bring players to Icewind Dale, promising true homage to classic action RPG gameplay, allowing friends to team up and slay enemies together. Tuque Games' Jeff Hattem describes it as, "Putting the action back in action RPGs." The video appears to show gameplay in first-person view, giving the impression that this may resemble Dungeons and Dragon's own take on Warhammer's Vermentide formula.

Ghost of Tsushima

Coming out for Playstation 4, enough can not possibly be said for the much anticipated Ghost of Tsushima in this short summary. With an anticipated release date of sometime in the summer of 2020 for Ghost of Tsushima, players will have the opportunity to journey its jaw dropping landscapes, utilize stealth to take out enemies as a samurai, and engage in some pretty graphical sword play. Fans have been waiting anxiously for this release since 2017, so this may be one of Playstation 4's final classics before the next-gen console takes a foothold.

Gears Tactics

Gears Tactics is the love child X-Com and Gears of War. Set in the same universe, Gears Tactics promises a 40 hour campaign utilizing turn based tactical combat, character customization, and an overhead camera view. It is set for an April 28, 2020 release on Xbox.

Naraka: Bladepoint

Made by Chinese studio, 24 Entertainment, Naraka: Bladepoint surprised fans with fast paced physics similar to Assassin's Creed, with emphasis on a grappling hook allowing the player to quickly traverse the large maps, while running along walls and taking on enemies in fast paced sword fights. Naraka: Bladepoint seems similar to games such as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Ghost of Tsushima with its East-Asian setting, aesthetics, and style of combat. From the trailer, it appeared to have particular emphasis on one on one combat.

The Wolf Among Us 2

While the trailer did not reveal much, the mere confirmation of The Wolf Among Us 2 relieves many fans of the fear that this series may have been dead. Rest assured, The Wolf Among Us 2 is coming, despite the sudden closure of its development company, Telltale Games. The release date at this time is unknown, but certainly the news that it is still in development is sure to satisfy fans enough, as they get to return to its world of fairy tales and dark humor.

Other Announcements and Reveals

Salaam came as a welcome surprise, as refugee and game developer Lual Mayen has bridged fiction and reality by offering a game in which players take control of a refugee. Its aim is to allow players to empathize with the experiences and tribulations of being a refugee, and all that it entails.

Produced by Amazon Studios, New World is a sandbox MMO game in a medieval-fantasy setting. Upon first inspection, one could mistake this game for being a new Dragon Age title, with its darker and grittier take on a fantasy setting. The premise is actually based on an alternate history setting here on Earth, putting players into a game world set in the mid-1600s in order to colonize new lands inspired by British America. New World is Amazon's first MMO and fans can dig into it in May 2020.

Maneater was an interesting and humorous game with an intriguing premise, as the players take control of a shark and chomp down on humans while evolving and becoming a larger and more vicious predator in water and, somehow, on land. Made by Tripwire Interactive, the company behind online zombie shoot-em-up Killing Floor 1 and 2, Maneater will be heading to PC sometime in 2020.

The Game Awards 2019 shot off with its first revelation in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's Rise of Phoenix DLC for Nintendo Switch. Nintendo and Team Ninja offer 4 iconic X-Men characters in Rise of Phoenix: Cable, Iceman, Gambit and Phoenix. Fans will be happy to know that Rise of Phoenix will be available in just a couple weeks on December 23.

Aplitude Studios' Jeff Spock revealed Humankind, where the player can customize and create a look-alike avatar of themselves to lead the world and visually evolve on the course to doing so. It showcases deep strategic combat where decisions regarding how you manage your society can have deep impact on the battle field, such as how one may choose to keep up with an arms race, while taking advantage of local geography in utilizing higher grounds in battle. Humankind is a 4X strategy game set for release on PC in 2020.

In January, the Joker will also be coming as an additional character in Mortal Kombat 11, offering some dark humor to the franchise.

Warframe's own Rebecca Ford announced the game's update for PC, which was released today, offers a new way to play the game by means of space combat, as players will have the ability to take the battle to space in Warframe's Empyrean update.  

Daniel Ketchum, senior director for Magic the Gathering, announced new content for the card game in January. The new content, Theros Beyond Death, will offer new and returning mechanics to the digital card game, and in celebration of its release, three new cards are available right now for the game, including the famous Black Lotus. The new content includes Sagas, which are enchantments, constellation rewards to enshrine enchantments with powerful abilities, and Devotion, which offers many bonuses calculated into a player's stats.

Made by the same developers as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, not much can be said about the game, Prologue, other than it resonates some strong horror elements with a character traversing some creepy looking woods.

Former creator of Dishonored and Prey, Raphael Calantonio's new WolfEye Studios unveiled Weird West at the Game Awards 2019 to much fanfare. Similarly to Dishonored, this action-RPG, Weird West, has atmospheric vibes written all over it, with its dystopian and horror aesthetic that brings beastly monstrosities to its western setting, including what appeared to be a werewolf of some sort. Described to take place in a land where the player can be a hero or scoundrel, its gameplay adopts an overhead camera view with a more hand-drawn style of graphics on display. No information is yet available regarding what platforms it may come out for, nor its release date.

Some impressive music tracks were revealed for Cyberpunk 2077, with a more industrial trajectory and strong emphasis on music playing a role in the overall ambiance of the game. The show even included a live performance for one of its songs, with some impressive on-stage special effects on display showing futuristic circuitry lighting up to the rhythm of the song's beats.

Red Games, a studio founded by former Remedy Entertainment's Matias Myllyrinne, also announced Nine to Five, a tactical shooter with emphasis on team-based combat. Matias describes the game as a solution to modern shooters which are often "too chaotic and random." Players are able to sign up for the alpha today.

Other reveals included Christmas themed maps for Apex Legends and Holiday themed costumes as well. Moon Studios revealed  Ori and the Will of the Wisps for Xbox and PC, a followup to the much respected Ori and the Blind Forest. Oculus Studios unveiled Path of the Warrior for the Oculus Quest, which could be summed up as looking like a Streets of Rage-inspired beat-em-up in first person view.

Finally, Fast and Furious Crossroads concluded the reveals of the show, and is slated for release in May, 2020 on PS4, PC and Xbox.
