Earlier this year at Comic Con, G4TV announced a triumphant return coming in 2021, although the network has been fairly silent about exactly what this could mean. Well, the first look at the new era of the network came recently as G4TV announced a Reunion Special that will air on YouTube on November 24th, with popular streamers and online personalities collaborating with their own streams as well in what is being referred to as Gravython.

In preparation for this upcoming Reunion Special, Game Rant spoke with G4TV, specifically with Kevin Pereira and Adam Sessler, the former hosts of Attack of the Show! and X-Play respectively. While both hosts commented on the experience of bringing the cast back together for the Reunion Special, they also passionately supported the charitable efforts that the upcoming event will be representing.

According to Sessler and Pereira, the G4 Reunion Special is itself for charity first and foremost, meaning that the focus of the event is more on hopefully bringing attention to the causes than anything else. The seven charities in question include Girls Who Code, Black Girls Code, CodePath, Boys & Girls Club of America, The National Fragile X Foundation, Conor’s Cure, and No Kid Hungry. Each of these charities focus on the advancement of either granting children access to computer and technology education, or providing healthcare and support to illnesses and struggles that affect children.

Sessler in particular wanted to comment on Girls Who Code, Black Girls Code, and Code Path for the way that they are encouraging the next generation of creatives to "look behind the digital curtain" in game design and pursue careers in tech fields. Additionally, he passionately addressed the false narrative that math and science, along with games and programming, are gender exclusive, commenting how he's happy to see how all of the charities have affected young people's lives, including some in his own family.

Both hosts also wanted to make it clear that while some of the charities represented might stand out to some, they support all seven that G4TV has chosen to support in the Reunion Special. Each one is fighting to keep children happy and healthy in America, and they are all worth donating to for anyone looking to make a real difference. This all falls fairly well in line with the network's history of charitable fundraising as well, which is one reason that the original cast was so excited to be a part of this event, beyond the prospect of rejoining G4TV as it returns.

The G4TV Reunion Special will air Tuesday, November 24th on YouTube at 9pm ET / 6pm PT, and re-air on SYFY channel at Midnight ET/PT on Friday (11pm CT). Fans can donate to the Gravython's various charities at Tiltify now. Fans can donate to the Gravython's various charities at Tiltify now.
