Back in 2002, G4, the TV channel made for gamers, launched. The channel lasted until 2012, but has been working on a relaunch since July 2020. The steps towards the relaunch are underway with a few more recent video game influencers joining G4, including Jirard “The Completionist” Khalil and Gina Darling.

Jirard Khalil, also known as "The Completionist", has lived up to his name by doing his best to 100% complete any game he can while showing what it takes and if the rewards are worth it, giving the game a review at the same time. Gina Darling is also a YouTuber but also spends her time being busy with Livestreams, model work, and making comedic TikToks.

The two have been announced to be hosts for the relaunch of the digital channel as part of G4's "pre-launch party" Beach House initiative, with the press release exposing details about the stars' futures on the channel. Gina has been said to be putting her humor to good use with G4's future Livestream work as well as anything pop culture-related. Jirard is reportedly going to be commentating on G4's future Esports content, Livestreams, and joining the crew of X-Play on its return to the channel.

Gina, on being brought onto G4, has stated that G4's comedic content used to "blow her mind" when she was younger. “I hope to bring that same energy to my hosting duties and recreate the magic that inspired me as a fan," she says. Jirard has said a similar statement, saying G4 was one of the inspirations behind his channel when it began around ten years ago.

G4 also states that the Beach House pre-launch party plans were made following the feedback the digital channel received during their "B4G4" initiative last year. The aim of the Beach House isn't just mayhem; G4 says it is also to "bring all talent together and build upon the lessons learned and [fan's] feedback" from B4G4.

While the Beach House seems to be mostly used for videos on social media to showcase the talents brought in, only time will tell if the teambuilding and improvements promised by G4 will hold up once the channel launches properly. Until then, the talents are doing their best to keep fans satisfied with G4.

There is a chance that allowing influencers on the shows offered by the digital channel may not be an idea that avoids the channel from being canceled again, yet on the same token, it may just be the more recent touch to video games that the channel needs to stay relevant after the eight years it's been out of service. Video games tend to evolve fast with technology, and as a result, G4 will need to keep evolving as well.
