The Future Games Show surprised many when it debuted in June. The digital showcase event filled a space during what should have been E3 2020 week. It included game announcements, interviews, trailers, and more. And apparently it was so successful that Future's decided to host another event in August.

Today, Games Radar announced a special Gamescom edition of the Future Games Show. It'll be run on August 28, which is the first official day of Gamescom's digital event following an August 27 Opening Night Live. As before, the Future Games Show will feature exclusive trailers, announcements, and "deep dives into existing AAA and indie games due to launch in 2020 and beyond."

The size of the show hasn't been confirmed yet, nor have the number of games that will be shown. In fact, in the announcement was a form for game developers to fill out if they wanted to participate, so it's likely still growing. The first Future Games Show featured around 40 different games. The extra attention for Gamescom should make this show even bigger.

One other change that's been confirmed is a new round of hosts. For the first show, Future picked up Nolan North and Emily Rose. The new Gamescom show will have new faces taking over the hosting duties, though Future says they'll likely be familiar.

It's unclear if Future intends its Future Games Show presentation to be a regular bimonthly event going forward. That certainly wouldn't be unwelcome, of course. There are always plenty of indie games looking to get more eyes on their product year-round. It could just be Future doing its part to fill the void left by the COVID-19 convention cancellations. Either way, it's an exciting service.

The Future Games Show at Gamescom digital event will run on August 28  at 12:pm PT.
