Known for its fantastic story and Wild West setting, Red Dead Redemption 2 has also become synonymous with insane encounters, wacky moments, and hilarious clips of players messing around. Red Dead Redemption 2's open world naturally creates these moments due to its random nature, leading to incredible scenarios being recorded by players.

These scenarios can vary in their randomness, with some events like a Red Dead Redemption 2 Jackass parody being staged by players while other events happen more naturally. For example, one player was attempting to capture their character at their most photogenic when an unexpected guest arrived and ruined the moment.

Though not as terrifying as a Red Dead Redemption 2 murder cabin, the scenario that Reddit user Umbabawe23 captured was startling if not wildly funny. The scenario was that Umbabawe23 was taking a screenshot of their character looking quite dashing with a background to match. Suddenly, another character swiftly enters the room, slowly takes aim at Umbabawe23's head, and ends the photo booth moment.

While mods can bring their own form of fun, such as Red Dead Redemption 2's Zack becoming Zeus, there is definitely something to say for the random encounters created by the game itself. In the case of Umbabawe23, it seemed that they did nothing wrong, simply crossing paths with the wrong stranger. It was also unfortunate to realize that the killer was actually a player, as the clip could have been much more random and hilarious had the killer been an NPC. Instead, player Toro_Killer15 showed his hatred of photos by making sure Umbabawe23 would never be able to take that particular one.

Reddit users absolutely loved the clip, laughing about the randomness of the moment while simultaneously asking questions about the attempted photo shoot. One user lamented the missed photo opportunity, saying the photo would have turned out so well had it been uninterrupted. Another user joked that this clip would be filed away under pictures taken moments before disaster struck. Many other users cared less about the attack and more about Umbabawe23's outfit, wishing to know every detail, so they could recreate it.

This photo shoot turned deadly shooting perfectly describes the dichotomy of the online aspect of Red Dead Redemption 2, with one player acting out their photo fantasy and another swooping in to mess it up. Much like two deer fighting in Red Dead Redemption 2, the online landscape is a deadly frontier akin to the real Wild West, leading to random and deadly encounters like poor Umbabawe23's missed photo opportunity.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
