These carefree NPCs are not exclusive to GTA, as NPCs in games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Prototype tend to be blissfully unaware of most things the player is capable of.

Move spamming has been a fighting game staple since the first Hadouken was launched from Ryu's palms over twenty years ago. A go-to tactic for less experienced but strategic players, move spamming has caused arguments on couches for decades, and likely will continue to do so for years to come.
There is no better feeling in fighting games than finally finding a way around a spam heavy move. The glory of seeing the bewildered face of a move spammer as their unbeatable wall of combos has finally been broken never gets old.

The shame of having everyone in a game watch the player's demise as the final killcam plays to end a match is unrivaled. The player has to sit and watch their mistakes play out in front of them for all to see, knowing that they are the reason the game has ended.
This shame is often accompanied by loud jeers from teammates and sometimes hilarious commentary from the enemy team. This moment is probably why some people prefer to play without mics.

4 The Comforting Simplicity Of Old Games
Modern video games are riddled with microtransactions, day-one patches, and loads of controversy. Games are announced, hype builds for years, and then a poor product is released that only becomes playable after about a month of being on shelves. This seems to be the new industry standard.
However, there was a time where games were simply released, and the good games were good, and the bad games were bad. There were no patches or updates, so if a developer wanted to redeem themself, they needed to make a sequel. The classics of the past are still revered and picked up to this day for a reason.
3 Mr. X Is Still Terrifying
Few horror game villains are as imposing as Mr. X from Resident Evil 2. His loud, rhythmic footsteps can be heard throughout the game, increasing in volume the closer he gets to the player. He seems to always know exactly where the player is, and most of the time he's arriving at the absolute worst possible time.
Mr. X was seemingly forgotten about until the Resident Evil 2 Remake hit shelves in 2019. The remake was met with large amounts of praise as players got to experience being chased by Mr. X again, only this time in HD.
2 Link's Picky Pockets
One of the more frustrating aspects of The Legend of Zelda is that Link is seemingly capable of holding any number of items, except Rupees. Wallet upgrades have consistently been a hassle for fans of the series since its inception. Hitting that dreaded 99 Rupee cap renders all other Rupees found useless until the player visits a shop or upgrades their wallet.
Some Zelda games do include a bank function. This allows the player to store Rupees for later use. Still, when a large purchase is necessary, needing that upgraded wallet can be a little annoying, especially if the player has an absurd amount of Joy Pendants in their inventory.
1 The Dreaded Second Phase
A moment that will forever strike fear into the hearts of gamers everywhere, that intense shift in tone after landing (what was thought to be) the final blow on a boss. The music increases in tempo, the boss rises and transforms into something even more grotesque than before, and the player, just for a second, considers putting the controller down for good.
It can never end like that, however, as what great story isn't accompanied by a false finish? Classic bait and switch to keep the player guessing to the very end, no matter how terrifying the outcome is.
