Out of all the consoles that Nintendo has released over the years, the Wii has been the one that gets made fun of the most, despite housing plenty of great games and features. The controllers, motion detection, and much more have been represented as memes since the gaming system was released in 2006.
While the console itself doesn't see much use these days, jokes about its loveable yet wonky existence still proliferate the internet and remind everyone how unique and interesting Nintendo's first dedicated attempt into the world of motion controls was.
10 Controller Trolling
While it is common knowledge that regular Wiimotes do not need to be plugged in (only synced to the console), the same is not exactly true for the Wii's Classic Controller. If playing some games with a sibling, and the need for an advantage arises, it is possible to trick someone into believing that their corded controller is in fact operational while it is the opposite. By the time they figure out what is happening, it will already be too late for them to make a comeback.
9 Now THAT Is A Party To Support
The past few years have been some of the most disappointing in terms of politics, which have made many people uninterested in hearing about the most recent governmental changes and policies. This boredom is particularly significant when compared to the interest generated by video games, like many of the addictingly fun titles that can be played during the best kind of party; a Wii Party.
8 Rest, Finally...
Despite being released well over a decade ago, developers were still making games with Nintendo Wii versions up until late 2019 and early 2020. The last title made for this older console was Just Dance 2020, which is honestly not what anyone expected, however, it gave the Wii a way to go out with a bang of popular music and energetic gameplay.
7 Defense Or Offense?
Safety guidelines should never be ignored, even if they can be a bit tedious or lame in concept to some. Everyone is likely well aware of the risks of not using a wrist strap when playing a game on the Wii, though, this hasn't stopped a few reckless individuals from playing while strapless.
This bit of dialogue given by a shopkeeper in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is in reference to purchasing armor and weapons, however, is remarkably well suited for the safety instructions of using a Wiimote.
6 Next-Level Immersion
While immensely cool in concept to be able to play Mario Kart in an actual vehicle, this image really makes people wonder at the viability and comfort of such a thing. With all the accessories that have been released for the Wii over the years, it would not be too surprising if the person who got a Wii into their car's dashboard display was able to hook up a gaming steering wheel and pedals, though, it would be far more impressive for them to hook up their vehicle's actual steering wheel and pedals, as mentioned in the caption.
5 2006 Was A Simpler Time
While such a dense crowd in real life may trigger some people's anxiety, the Miiverse did the opposite for a long time. No smartphones, no pandemics, no hustle and bustle; just Miis hanging out and enjoying their virtual life. Cruising around this part of one's Wii experience had much the same feeling as people-watching but from the comfort and safety of one's own home.

Besides the similar head-smoothness and facial hair, these 4 individuals are renowned for being some of the strongest opponents in a boxing match, and all have proven it time and again.
The latter of which, Matt from Wii Sports, has been able to demonstrate to gamers in a ruthless manner just how big the gap is between "pretty good" and "professional". Not only does he have insane skills but also a merciless demeanor that has caused many to ragequit.
3 "Pfft, Breaks Are For Casuals!"
It is important to occasionally take a break from gaming in order to rest one's eyes and other health-related concerns, and the Wii was a console that reminded the player to do so with in-game messages. This shows the concern that the developers had for their customers, especially since those that live longer can purchase more products. However, some gamers don't like being told what to do by their console.
2 Uncanny Resemblance
It is uncertain whether the program used by the police to create an image of wanted criminals runs off of the same engine as the Wii, though, people who saw this can be forgiven for assuming it was a joke. While robbery is certainly not something to laugh at, the potential perpetrator's Mii-like face absolutely is.

While many out there will talk down about the Wii, there is still a dedicated fanbase that will defend this Nintendo console until the bitter end due to how many fond memories they have of it. This notion has lead to someone manipulating an image of a hand holding a Wiimote with an installed knife, not unlike a switchblade. The caption slams the message home, implying that anyone who makes fun of the Wii is not safe.
