Although Friday the 13th: The Game has had a difficult time post-release, it's perhaps the Xbox One users who have had the worst time of it. After all, while Friday the 13th players on PS4 and PC have received major patches to improve performance, those on Xbox One have been left waiting. Thankfully, that wait is now over, as the patch is now available to Xbox One users.

Taking to the game's official Facebook page, Illfonic and Gun Media were able to confirm that the patch has now arrived, and brings with it plenty of fixes for well-known problems in the game. Following on from the small update on the Xbox One patch that hit recently, the team was able to give a brief description of what this patch will do, explaining that "the team has significantly reduced crash instances and performed a major sweep on bugs that have been persistent with the Xbox version."

The announcement also gives an apology for the delay in the Xbox One patch, which has hit much later than the equivalent on other platforms, and this apology may soothe those players who have been frustrated with the game since those server connection problems. "Our sincere apologies for the time that this has taken to arrive, but we will be monitoring the patch and are already working on additional fixes," stated the post. "We believe this patch will greatly increase playability and bring the game in line with other platforms."

Those working on Friday the 13th: The Game would certainly do well to make sure that support and a dedication to updates does continue into the future, particularly after some of the backlash that both the game itself and those behind it have received. In particular, players were angry that Illfonic is already working on a new game, in spite of the persistant issues with Friday the 13th.

That said, this is certainly a step in the right direction, and with new horror Easter eggs coming to Friday the 13th (including the potential for some fiendish puzzles) it does look like there could be some substantial new content in the pipeline. Now all users need is that long-awaited single player mode.
