Although there are many who consider Friday the 13th: The Game to be one of the best multiplayer games of 2017, there are also lots of fans who have expressed that the title lacks an edge due to the killer, Jason Voorhees, being too easy to evade. With this being the case, the title's developer, IllFonic, recently took to the game's official blog to reveal that a new patch is on the way that will buff some of the slasher icon's abilities to make him more formidable.

According to IllFonic, Friday the 13th: The Game's next update is set to "bring a proper balance" to the title, as a handful of Jason's abilities are going to be kicked up a notch so that those playing as Camp Counselors will have a little more difficult time escaping the Crystal Lake killer. For instance, the forthcoming patch will provide each Jason with "a small speed increase" to make him "feel more relentless," two additional throwing knives at the beginning of a match, and a reworking of his "grab reach and radius" that will help him nab Counselors with more aplomb.

While the full list of patch notes for the next update to Friday the 13th: The Game has yet to be revealed, the aforementioned tweaks to Jason will likely be just some of the alterations coming to the character and the title itself. The patch is set to go live later this week, and it's safe to presume that the change log will likely include many error, glitch, and bug fixes for the game as well.

Beyond these refinements coming to Friday the 13th: The Game, fans are also waiting with bated breath to learn when Gun Media and IllFonic will finally incorporate the oft-requested Jason X skin from the film of the same name. Neither the publisher nor developer have provided a time frame as to when players should expect the skin to arrive, but hopefully the next patch will set the stage for its inclusion soon.

Friday the 13th: The Game is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
