Friday the 13th: The Game is about to cross paths with the date that shares its name, and as such Illfonic and Gun Media have got plenty of plans for the title. For starters, the asymmetrical multiplayer game is going to not only get a brand new map based on the Jarvis Residence, but it's also going to see the long-awaited launch of Jason from Part 4.

Fans of Friday the 13th: The Game will no doubt want to see more of this particular Jason, and thankfully the game's developers have now confirmed some of the stats for the character in question. For starters, it looks as though Jason from the somewhat misnamed Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter has some strengths, such as running ability, weapon strength, and destruction, although those playing as Jason will need to watch out for problems when it comes to water speed, Shift, and a weakness to traps.

Alongside a spotlight on Jason himself, Illfonic also shared a little more about the new map for the game. Dubbed the Jarvis House map, it comprises of the Jarvis Residence itself alongside the vacation house. Here's a look at the map in action, along with Jason from Part 4.

The Jarvis House map and Jason from The Final Chapter are not the only bits of additional content that fans will be getting when Friday the 13th itself rolls around. Indeed, alongside those two additions players will also be receiving new camp counselor Mitch Floyd, whose tie-dye shirt and stoner attitude will no doubt go down a treat with any would-be serial killers out there.

Of course, users will be hoping to see more than just new maps and characters on the horizon, and for many players that oft-delayed single player mode cannot come quick enough. The single player content for Friday the 13th may not include a story mode, but at least it would provide a decent change of pace for players.

That said, there's no getting around the fact that Friday the 13th has managed to gain itself a strong fanbase on the content available, in spite of a fairly bumpy start to its life in the world of video games. Here's hoping that Illfonic and Gun Media are able to keep players happy with new content going forward.
