Smosh Games is back with another instalment of its Honest Game Trailers series, and this time it's taking a stab at one of the biggest multiplayer releases of the year. Friday the 13th: The Game has only been out for a couple of weeks, but it has already been mutilated in true Jason fashion by this video.

As with previous Honest Game Trailers videos, the Friday the 13th: The Game edition hones in on some of the less marketable aspects of the game. Given that it's packed to the gills with horror movie tropes, as well as being a Kickstarter project, there's plenty to poke fun at.

The game revolves around asymmetrical multiplayer, where players are either given the role of the destructive, omnipotent Jason Voorhees, or the pitifully weak camp councillors that serve as his prey. The trailer wastes no time in detailing how very different these two experiences can be.

The clip also doesn't shy away from some of the technical difficulties that the game has been subject to since it was released. Between strange glitches and network outages, there have been some significant teething troubles affecting what is by all accounts a very unique, enjoyable multiplayer title.

If nothing else, the video is a great way to get a look at some of the gory death scenes feature in the game. There are plenty of unique kills, and many of them are featured in this clip — so it's perhaps not for the faint of heart.

The fact that Friday the 13th: The Game is being featured on Honest Game Trailers demonstrates that the title is proving popular among gamers, as the channel typically sticks to major new releases for the series. The game may have started out as a Kickstarter project, but its well-known licence and atypical multiplayer action might help it become something of a sleeper hit.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
