Friday the 13th: The Game, the horror multiplayer title featuring the iconic Jason Voorhees is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Spring. The game will be brought to the Switch by Gun Media in partnership with Black Tower Studios and Nighthawk.

Gun Media revealed that the upcoming release of Friday the 13th on the Nintendo Switch will include all previously released content and paid DLC. The Nintendo version, which is dubbed as the Ultimate Slasher Switch Edition will consist of the Jason Kill Pack, both of the Counselor Clothing Packs, and the Emote Party Pack.

At the moment, no exact release date has been specified aside from a launch window of Spring 2019. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing copyright battle involving the Friday the 13th franchise and Victor Miller, the original film's screenwriter, no new content will be added to the Switch version of the game. Gun Media's Creative Director Wes Keltner previously stated at the time that the studio could not add any new DLC to Friday the 13th: The Game, given that it is only allowed to maintain servers and fix bugs.

Given the on-going lawsuit, fans of the video-game adaptation of the franchise were left wondering about the fate of the horror game. Several months ago, Keltner talked about future of the game, reiterating that due to the current legal proceedings, any possibilities of new content being added is extremely unlikely. To add to that, Keltner also explained that the screenwriter ignored all of their attempts to settle the lawsuit.

Several months ago, a court ruling declared that Miller will retain the rights to the franchise in the US, but these rights are only limited to everything included in the original screenplay. Given this loophole, the team behind the Friday the 13th: The Game is currently exploring all opportunities for new projects that are not involved in Miller's screenplay.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with a Switch version to be released by Spring of 2019.
