Friday the 13th developer Gun Media is at it again with the blue dot teases, this time with a different formation than the one released late last week. Whereas the first tease featured a series of 8 dots (4 on top and 4 on the bottom) with the 8th dot colored blue, this week’s puts the blue dot in the second slot.

As with the tease last week, the Friday the 13th developers have included no additional information. The tweet includes no caption and the only visible difference is that the blue dot is in a completely different spot.

Friday the 13th players may be no closer to find out what the dot formations mean, but there has been no shortage of speculation. Initially, some thought that the blue dot pointed towards a Jason skin from Friday the 13th 5: A New Beginning, in which a copycat killer named Roy Burns dons a mask similar to Jason’s, only with blue stripes instead of red. If not that, the blue was also taken as a hint towards a Pamela Voorhees skin, since Jason's mother wears a blue sweater in the first film.

Friday the 13th May Be Teasing a New Jason Skin - Pamela Voorhees

This could still be what developer Gun Media is hinting at, but the changing sequence of the dots suggests some form of hidden message or a larger clue. It could be that the Friday the 13th devs are trying to reveal a date for something, like the next major patch. We know one is in the works and will include, among other things, smaller maps and new emotes.

The answer that a lot of fans are hoping for is that the 8 and the 2 are supposed to be added to make 10 for Jason X. It’s quite a stretch, but if there was a top pick for Jason skins, the Jason X skin is a major contender.

Given that Friday the 13th is 1v7 (or 8 total players), it’s hard to imagine Gun is not hinting at something for the game specifically. The single player mode still hasn’t released, and that was promised to be out by summer – so that is also a likely possibility. Even something as simple as a new Jason skin from Friday the 13th Part 5 fits the teases, although things have become more elaborate.

Friday the 13th is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
