Friday Night Funkin’, as a wildly popular free-to-play game, has spawned quite the active community after surging onto the Newgrounds scene in late 2020. While some mods prioritize difficulty and others prioritize visual elements through things like cutscenes and character animation, others focus on humor that can be achieved with the game, leading to countless hilarious mods being readily available!
14 SiIvagunner Mod
For those unfamiliar, SiIvagunner is a youtube channel that focuses on making "quality rips" of countless songs from across video game history, altering elements of songs in a variety of ways to great comedic effect. Whether it be by incorporating elements from popular meme-related songs into a video game track, or using a song to cover an entirely different track, there's a lot to appreciate about SiIvagunner.
Since Friday Night Funkin' got off the ground, the channel has been producing countless great altered versions of tracks from the game with comedic visual accompaniment. However, what is the most impressive is that these altered SiIvagunner versions are being made playable in an updated Mod that features a variety of settings and extra modes. This is easily one of the largest and most multifarious FNF mods around, featuring everything from Childish Gambino and Daft Punk to references to Among Us and a very specific iteration of Buggs Bunny.

While Doki Doki Literature Club is an impressive instant cult-classic horror game in its own right, the game immediately resulted in a variety of memes, most of which relate to one of the game's central characters, Monika.
Without getting into spoiler territory of Doki Doki Literature Club, we'll just say that implementing the character of Monika within Friday Night Funkin's fifth week is a perfect fit both aesthetically and contextually, making it a mod that fans of both games are sure to enjoy.

12 Friday Nokia Funkin'
While Friday Nokia Funkin' is easily the smallest entry on this list, its concise size makes it no less hilarious. Putting the player up against a giant, photo-realistic Nokia phone, rather than engaging in a rap battle as one would expect, the player simply needs to repeat the classic Nokia ring tone. While this mod is far from fancy, it does a solid job getting the joke across.

A mod that changes both the visuals and music of one of the game's most iconic songs, as the name of the mod would suggest, Otamatone MILF reskins the week 4 track, MILF to be played on an Otamatone. While the musical change is funny in its own right, the augmented visuals really make this mod work, not just changing the characters' appearances to be depicted as Otamatones, but even changing the arrows of the game's interface to be Otamatone's as well.

Of course, there is a bit of a difference between appreciating the music of the Vocaloid idol, and designing an entire stage of a rhythm game around beating her in a multi-stage rap battle. So, Friday Night Funkin’ may be a fantastic rhythm game. But it is a lousy golf simulator — in fact, there is no trace of golf in the game whatsoever! One of the developers really dropped the ball on that one. Fortunately, the Golf Minigame mod seeks to fix this glaring oversight and presents the player with an entirely new stage, where the player can seek to impress with their rapping and putting skills.

Sometimes a boy needs to rap battle against his girlfriend’s father in order to impress them. And sometimes he just gets shot at. Friday Night Gunnin’ seeks the best of both worlds. The modder behind this amusing redesign has reskinned and reorchestrated an early stage of the game to feature an absurd gunfight between the boyfriend and Daddy Dearest (wielding his brand-new bulletproof Dad-Shield).

6 High Effort Ugh 2.0 (feat. Tankman): Rolling Out the Hit(s?)

Replacing the sprite for Daddy Dearest with a custom sprite of Barack Obama and replacing the original with a custom presidential rap battle, the FNF modding community ensures that if Obama ever does become a crucial celebrity to feature within the rhythm game genre, they’re well ahead of the curve.

4 VS Shaggy: Like, Slow Down, Man!
It’s a quite common meme at this point that Shaggy from Scooby-Doo is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Modders for Friday Night Funkin’ decided to put that to the test and designed a brand-new level with an intimidating new premise.
While the player duels Shaggy in the traditional rapping style for the first half of the mod, logic quickly breaks down and Shaggy forces two additional action keys into the level. The player’s muscle memory is thrown for a loop, and Shaggy suddenly becomes the challenging foe that the memes forewarned of.
