One of the best parts of being a gamer today are the free games players get every month through services like Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus. And while every service has the occasional bad month, there are still tons of great titles people get access to just for subscribing to online services. Luckily, PlayStation Plus' free game offering for September 2019 is one of the better ones out there.

In September, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3, two major releases over the span of this console generation. It's one of the better selections to hit the service so far this year, especially after July, which many fans thought was disappointing and lead to the PlayStation Plus games being switched at the last minute. However, these two games should prove to be pretty popular with fans.

Batman: Arkham Knight isn't widely regarded as the best in the franchise, but it's still a great successor to the previous games in the series. Plus, Batman: Arkham Asylum, which changed gaming forever, just had its tenth birthday. It's definitely worth playing for fans of superheroes, as it's one of the most fantasy-fulfilling superhero games out there.

Darksiders 3, on the other hand, released to pretty awful critical and fan feedback. Game Rant's Darksiders 3 review was one such negative review, citing the game's widespread technical issues as Darksiders 3's biggest detractor. That being said, nothing beats the price of free, and it's still worth checking the game out for those that never got the chance to play it. The other games in the series are pretty solid, and there's a new Diablo-style one coming soon dubbed Darksiders Genesis, so it may be a good way to catch up on the story.

As usual, these games are only available for a limited time, and only accessible for people with an active PlayStation Plus membership. The games will go free on September 3rd and remain that way until September 3oth. Players still have a little bit of time to grab this month's PlayStation Plus games, Wipeout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4 before they go back to normal price on September 2nd.
