Since Sony doesn't reveal the next free PlayStation Plus games until the last Wednesday of every month, it's far too early for fans to know what the next batch of free games will entail. But while PS Plus subscribers will need to wait a few weeks to know for sure what free games they can claim for PS4 and PS5 in July, it seems as though at least one of the free PS Plus games for July 2021 has leaked ahead of time.

In a Resetera thread discussing a massive E3 2021 leak, user Deluxera mentioned that, according to their own sources, the leak's claim of A Plague Tale: Requiem was accurate. Deluxera believes that A Plague Tale: Requiem will be announced during Xbox's E3 2021 event, where it will be confirmed as a Day One Xbox Game Pass game, with PlayStation and Switch version also in development, for release in 2022.

Deluxera then went on to say that there will also be a next-gen remaster of the first Plague Tale game announced at E3. This Plague Tale remaster will supposedly be the free PS5 game for the PS Plus July 2021 lineup. Deluxera didn't reveal what the free PS4 games will be, however.

Whether or not this information is accurate remains to be seen. There have been plenty of times in the past where PS Plus leaks have turned out to be accurate, as well as times when they've turned out to be completely false. PS Plus subscribers won't know for sure whether or not the Plague Tale remaster is one of the free PS Plus games for July 2021 until Sony itself makes the announcement.

While fans wait to learn more about the supposed Plague Tale remaster and the free PS Plus games for July 2021, they can check out the free PS Plus games for June 2021. The June 2021 free PS Plus games lineup includes Operation: Tango on the PS5, as well as Star Wars: Squadrons and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown for PS4. Operation: Tango is a unique co-op game that requires two players to communicate over voice chat, whereas Star Wars: Squadrons is a Star Wars-set space combat sim and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is the enhanced re-release of VF5.

Both Operation: Tango and Star Wars: Squadrons will only be available for PS Plus subscribers to claim until Tuesday, July 6, at which point they will be replaced by the free PS Plus games for July 2021. However, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is a unique case in that it will be available to claim until August, following in the footsteps of other recent PS Plus games like Bugsnax and Destruction AllStars that have been free for two months instead of just one.
