It's the last Wednesday of the month, which means Sony has announced the next set of free PlayStation Plus games. As has been the case since the PS5 launched, the free PS Plus games for January 2021 include two PS4 titles and one PS5 title. The free PS Plus games for January 2021 will be available to claim starting Tuesday, January 5, and those interested will have until Monday, February 1 to claim their free games.

First off, PlayStation 5 owners can look forward to getting a free copy of Maneater with their PS Plus subscription. For the uninitiated, Maneater is a shark RPG where players take on the role of a deadly shark. It includes an open world, a leveling system, and plenty of dangerous encounters with humans and sea creatures alike. The PS5 version of Maneater has some upgrades not found in other versions of the game, such as ray-tracing support and 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

Meanwhile, the free PS Plus games for January 2021 aren't too bad for PS4 gamers either. Starting January 5, PS4 owners can check out Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the third game in the Tomb Raider reboot series, as well as GreedFallGreedFall is an action-RPG from 2019 that proved to be somewhat of a sleeper hit at the time of its release, often considered one of the more underrated titles of the last generation. Of course, since the PS5 is backward compatible with PS4 games, this means PS5 owners will have three more games to add to their collections come January 5.

Meanwhile, there is still time for PS Plus subscribers to claim the free PS Plus games for December 2020. On PS4, this includes Just Cause 4 and Rocket Arena, while both PS4 and PS5 gamers can check out Worms RumbleRocket Arena is a hero-based shooter that takes some inspiration from games like Overwatch and Quake, whereas Worms Rumble is a battle royale take on the classic Worms series of games.

As for what's next for PS Plus, it's unclear what exactly will make up the free PS Plus games for February 2021, with the exception of one game. It has already been confirmed that Destruction AllStars, once meant to be a PS5 launch title, will be one of the free PS Plus games for February 2021. It will likely be joined by two PS4 games, but Sony has yet to reveal which ones just yet.

Since Sony typically reveals the free PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of every month, it's likely fans will find out about February 2021's free games on Wednesday, January 27. Until then, the free PS Plus games for January 2021 should keep PlayStation fans plenty busy.
