Sony has established some distinct patterns when it comes to the free PlayStation Plus games it gives away in any given month. PlayStation Plus subscribers have come to expect the next batch of free PS Plus games to be announced on the last Wednesday of each month, with the new titles added on the following Tuesday. However, there are times when this isn't the case, and PS Plus subscribers have to wait a little longer to learn about next month's free games.

It's highly likely that the free PS Plus games for December 2021 will be announced on Wednesday, December 1. This is because the first Tuesday of December isn't until Tuesday, December 7, and the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesdays. So while Sony usually announces the free PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of every month, anyone expecting to get the free PS Plus games for December 2021 announcement on the last Wednesday of November will likely be out of luck.

Of course, it's always possible that Sony will break from its pattern and surprise PS Plus subscribers. There have been times when Sony has announced the free PS Plus games on different days of the week, after all. In fact, the free PS Plus games for November 2021 are an example of that. Instead of revealing the full lineup on the last Wednesday of October, Sony announced one of the free PS Plus games for November 2021 on the last Wednesday of the month during its State of Play presentation.

Since free PS Plus game First Class Trouble was one of the games featured at the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase, Sony confirmed it as being one of the free PS Plus titles. However, it didn't pull the curtain back on the rest of the free PS Plus games for November 2021 until a day later, on Thursday, October 28. So Sony has shown a willingness to change up exactly when it announces its free PS Plus games, but still, the safest bet is that the announcement will come on Wednesday, December 1 instead of the last Wednesday of November.
