Each month, PlayStation provides PS Plus users with a select few games to enjoy, all included in the cost of their monthly subscription. Not every month is a winner, but it's certainly one of the best perks about being a PS Plus subscriber. For those wondering which games await them next month, the free PlayStation Plus games for June 2021 have officially been revealed, and there are some big ones included this time around.

The first, and most exciting, title gamers have to look forward to is Star Wars Squadronsthe space-fighting adventure game that was released late last year. While Squadrons doesn't have the broadest scope of the countless Star Wars games out there, it's still managed to be a successful title. In fact, while no DLC content was originally planned for the game, EA began releasing post-launch content after release thanks to fan demand.

Next up is Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate ShowdownInterestingly, the game was only just announced yesterday, with a release planned for June 1. This will essentially make it a free PS Plus game nearly from day one, which is a big perk for fans. While it might not have the same weight that Mortal Kombat or Smash Bros has, the Virtua Fighter franchise is certainly nothing to scoff at.

Rounding out the list is Operation: Tango, which will be made available for PS5 owners. Operation: Tango is pitched as a spy adventure game, tasking players with completing asymmetric challenges from different points of view. Players are only linked with their voices, but they'll still need to work together if they want to be successful.

These games might not come as a huge surprise for some, as June 2021's free PS Plus games leaked a few days ago, continuing a trend of the games included with the subscription being revealed early. There's not a ton of harm in PS Plus games debuting earlier than intended – at least not from the consumer point of view – though whether the free PS Plus games for July 2021 will also leak remains to be seen.

All of the games will be available on June 1, which is something of a surprise considering that it usually takes a few days for the PlayStation Store to update with new titles. In the meantime, fans should claim the current lineup of PS Plus games for May if they haven't already, as it includes triple-a titles like Battlefield 5 and Wreckfest.

The PS Plus games for June 2021 are Star Wars: Squadrons, Operation: Tango, and Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown.
