After a long wait, Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy finally hit theaters earlier this month and has been receiving a lot of praise from both fans and critics. One surprising fan of the film has been showing constant support for the project and Reynolds on social media, and it happens to be none other than singer Mariah Carey.

On her official Twitter account, Carey recently confessed to having watched Free Guy nine times. In her tweet, she quoted her Free Guy song titled "Fantasy" and posted a GIF that read, “It’s the most important event that’s ever happened.” Her fangirl moment escalated further when she and Reynolds released a TikTok duet of her hit song that has fans gushing over the singer.

Carey’s song “Fantasy” was originally released in 1995 and its official video has over 82 million views on YouTube. The song features in Free Guy and first appeared in the film’s trailer. Jodie Comer, who stars as Millie (a.k.a. Molotovgirl) in Free Guy, performs a cover of the song in the film. The hilarious scene plays out with Millie just walking down a street in Free Guy's open-world video game and picking up lines of the song from people around her. Eventually, she launches into the song entirely and as she passes by Reynolds’ Guy, he stops her to say, “I love that song.”

Now, the song is the subject of Reynolds and Carey’s duet on TikTok, which has gone viral since its release. The two even shared the clip on their respective Twitter accounts. The video begins with Carey singing the lyrics as gracefully as ever, while Reynolds looks lost in thought. However, as soon as the beat drops, Reynolds takes over and his moment leaves Carey looking quite confused. The humorous exchange between Carey and Free Guy's leading man is being appreciated by social media users all over.

What stands out is the caption that Reynolds posted along with the clip. “My favorite thing that’s ever happened on August 25th,” it reads, which is a play on Carey’s GIF that she shared with her tweet about watching the film multiple times. Additionally, it is also a way for Reynolds to poke fun at his wife Blake Lively, as August 25 also happens to be her birthday. The couple often uses significant dates as a means to troll each other on social media.
