With the racing game expected to be one of the biggest games of the year for Xbox, the developer looks to make it accessible for all types of gamers.

Recently, Xbox posted an update on its website detailing some of the features coming to Forza Horizon 5. Specifically, these features dealt with accessibility. Among the myriad of features meant to help all types of players enjoy Forza Horizon 5 is the addition of sign language support for cinematics. The feature works by having a picture-in-picture display close to the bottom of the screen containing an interpreter. One of the highlights of this feature includes the ability to choose whether the interpreter signs in American Sign Language or British Sign Langauge. While this feature is not available at launch, the developer noted that it is coming soon as part of a post-launch update.

This is just one of many accessibility options coming to the Forza Horizon 5. According to the blog post, the developers closely followed the Xbox Accessibility Guidelines when designing the accessibility features for the game. One intriguing option is the game speed modification setting. This option allows players to play the game at slower speeds when offline. The developer noted that the setting was designed for beginners and those that want to take their time traversing through the open world of Mexico.

Some of the other accessibility features coming to the game include a color blindness mode and a high contrast mode. These options focus on making the impressive visuals of Forza Horizon 5 easier to see. In addition, the developer included a number of text settings, such as the option to change the font size of the menu and gameplay text. Furthermore, subtitles are highly customizable, letting gamers adjust the font size, change background opacity, and highlight keywords.
