However, the cars on the list are uniquely expensive and can be tuned to the extreme to make them the ultimate car. Attainting these cars isn't that hard, provided players use these tips.

Updated February 9, 2022 by Raza Malik: The great thing about the Forza Horizon line is that the developers are constantly adding cars, both expensive and on a budget, so that players can get the car they really like. Plus, it allows players to get out of their comfort zone truing a car they otherwise would not. The cars on the list are readily available for players to unlock or earn, provided they have the time and in-game money to do so. Players should take into consideration that, while following cars are on the pricey side, that doesn't mean the specs are reflected on the price. Some may be expensive but don't have the best. Upgrading them is always a good idea. Sine the car list is so large, and diverse it's a good idea to add worthy cars to this list.

10 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO — All Seasons

forza horizon 5 ferrari GTO 288

Not only is this Ferrari decently priced 3,500,000 credits, but it's a good all-around sports car that has balanced stats, and upgrading it can of course make it better. While a little slow at launch, players will find themselves in the middle of the pack early on due to its high acceleration, and they'll jump to the top three with the high speed in no time. Not every car on this list makes up for itself the way the GTO does.

The other great part is that this car is fantastic in all seasons without upgrades, so players can take it out during a rainstorm, and it'll still hold on tight to the road. It's good for a balanced car and fairly affordable, because players can upgrade it to make it better than other cars on this list.

9 1964 Jaguar Lightweight E - Type — Winter, Summer, and Spring

forza horizon 5 1964 Jaguar Lightweight

While not as groundbreaking as the other Jaguar on the list, it deserves its spot much. It has better handling than the D-Type and the overall package is a step-up as well. It can perform on unclean roads in rain, snow, or other debris. Thanks to its attractive price tag at 7,500,000 credits, players can save up quicker, and it'll win them races at the start even without upgrades.

However, since it's a classic car, players should handle it with care. Even though the weather in Forza Horizon 5 is drivable with the E-Type, players should still be driving strategically when the roads become more unpredictable. But upgrading should come with ease, since the handling and acceleration are all better than the D-Type. Players who are own the E-Type will be upgrading in different departments, because they don't need to worry about much after the first initial upgrades.

8 1966 Ford GT40 #2 — Winter And Spring

1966 Ford GT40 2 forza 5

This classic rear-wheel-drive racer has had many versions, and is still one of the more important cars to have in Forza Horizon 5. It's the perfect budget supercar because it only costs players 11,000,000 credits, plus players can upgrade it. This may seem expensive, but since Forza Horizon 5 gives players some better cars early-all free, players will have the GT40 in their garage in very little time.

Players need to be careful driving in rain, because this can be drawn to the rear-wheel-drive of the car. Because all the power comes from the back, making turns on roads with little traction may force players to do a 180 spin with the back for GT coming out the front. There are many races that take place in storm and rain, and usually, cars with the Ford GT40 specs suffer the most. Dry and hot roads will do wonders for players in this car.

7 1970 Porsche # 3 917 LH — Winter

forza horizon 5 1970 Porsche 3 917 LH

In real life, this supercar was unreliable and broke down many times. However, Forza Horizon 5 players don't need to worry about that. In fact, there's not much for players to worry about when looking into the 917. Players should spend time saving up for it, since it costs 15,000,000 credits. With that price, though, comes a lot of power and high-quality specs. Its acceleration is off the charts for a car in its class, and of course, the top speed is something for players to look into.

However, not everything is perfect. The handling is quite low and so is the braking, so if players take this out during rainy weather or snowy areas, they'll have a hard time. With that, it becomes quite limited in where players can take it and for how long because. In general, players who have the 917 should just take it out during dryer weather or seasons.

6 1997 McLaren F1 GT — Spring, Autumn, And Winter

1997 McLaren F1 GT forza 5

The McLaren brand is no stranger to speed and expense, and the F1 GT follows suit. However, unlike the Ford GT40, it can be heavily customized from its native rear wheel to an all-wheel-drive car. With a 15,000,000 price tag attached to it, the F1 GT can be appealing to drivers from all over the spectrum.

However, like most supercars in the game, it's low to the ground which can it lower its center of gravity, meaning it's much stiffer than most. Players may choose to lift it a bit, but that comes at a cost of losing speed, which could mean a lot for players wanting to achieve its top speed. Driving on roads with both a little and a lot of traction is easier to do once players can handle it.

5 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa — Spring, Autumn, and Winter

forza horizon 5 1957 ferrari 250 testa rossi

This sports car belongs to the same family as the California and has a lot going for it. It's slightly cheaper, costing the players just over 16,000,000 credits, and has slightly better stats, which allows players to take it out on more extreme weather. Sporting the aerodynamic look that is iconic for the Testa Rossa, players can build on top of that in the design department to make it look better. On top of that, the specs are quite good for a car in this class.

It has somewhat worse handling and somewhat better launch than the California. Players can always upgrade it to make it a smoother ride and will be spending less money doing so, because the base stats compliment the car quite well. While players should think about buying the California, it's a different story for the Testa Rossa, because players will spend less time upgrading it and more time driving it.

4 1957 Ferrari 250 California — Winter

1957 Ferrari 250 California forza 5

One of the most iconic cars in Forza Horizon 5, owning the 1957 Ferrari 250 will make other drivers envious. With a price of 18,000,000 credits, players may want to think before buying it. Not only is it expensive, but it does have mid to low-tier specs. While that doesn't diminish the car's reputation since players can upgrade it, they'll need to think twice beforehand.

Not built for high-intensity racing, players can still win races with 250 easily. They can also enjoy driving through the scenic landscapes of Mexico knowing that they are in an exclusive luxury car. Because it's a Cricut racer, players should stay away from the more rugged routes due to its handling. However, that can benefit players when racing with it. Because it's loose on turning, players can easily turn on sharp corners and maintain speed in dry weather.

3 1956 Jaguar D-Type — Winter

1956 Jaguar D-Type forza 5

Probably the most distinct-looking car in Forza Horizon 5, the teardrop shape emphasizes the technology at the time. Plus, it's a highly customizable car. In the older Forza games, players could upgrade the D-Type so much that it became one the fastest cars in the game. This does not change in Forza Horizon 5. The base model will be slow and make players aggravated, but staying with it will pay off.

Tuning the acceleration, and launch can give the D-Type an advantage over cars in its class and may tempt players to go outside their class. With the price tag of 22,000,000 credits, players will definitely be getting this car mid-game or later, meaning they will be used to cars that have lower specs at the start. Like most cars in its class, it doesn't do well on rougher terrain, but it is a concept car. Players should stay away from any road that doesn't have a lot of grips.

2 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe — Spring and Winter

1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe forza 5

For a price of 30,000,000 credits, players will be driving the countryside of Mexico with style. The racing variant of the Shelby Cobra, puts players at the front most of the time. With top speeds natively at 180 mph, players may not want to upgrade it often or as soon as possible. While it may not be the fastest car in the game, it can still help players win other areas like circuit tracks with corners.

Its ability to become an all-rounded car over time is something players can look forward to, as the Cobra Coupe can be quite a fast car. Driving in one of the biggest maps in the series can be quite a feat especially when players choose not to fast travel, but when driving the Cobra Coupe, that be easily done. Being an all-around good car, players won't lose speed even on sharp corners. This Cobra can be used in most weather, but does best in more stable weather, with predictable conditions.

1 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO — Winter

Forza horizon 5 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO

Unlike the 288 GTO, the 250 is a fast car, but it comes with poor handling, braking, and launch. Players will have their work there work cut out for them if they want to upgrade it. On top of that, it's currently the most expensive car in the game to date, with a price tag of 50,000,000 credits. Players should take into account that the GTO works best on circuit races with little turn and more dry weather, since its handling can't help from hitting walls when it rains.

If players want more out of the GTO, they can always upgrade the lower specs like the handling and launch to help out the top speed. But even with the upgrades, the car is quite heavy, so it becomes limited in what it can do.

Forza Horizon 5 was released on November 5, 2021, and is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
