Forza Horizon 5 has a lot of different events to try, but Drift Zones and challenges can be frustrating. It takes a while to master how to successfully build up Skill Chains, but players can give themselves a massive advantage by using a superior drift car.

The good news is that a lot of vehicles can be transformed into great drift cars by applying the correct tune. Tuning might sound daunting to new players, but premade tunes by top community members can be downloaded easily. However, there are a few stand-out cars that are ideal for drifting in Forza Horizon 5.

As previously stated, applying a pre-made tune can help the drifting potential of any car in Forza Horizon 5. This is particularly useful when weekly Festival Playlist challenges must be completed in a specific car.

That said, there are 3 incredible vehicles that are currently the best drift cars in Forza Horizon 5:

  • 1957 BMW Isetta 300 Export
  • 1965 Hoonigan Ford “Hoonicorn” Mustang
  • 2006 Formula Drift #43 Dodge Viper SRT10

The Hoonigan "Hoonicorn" Mustang and the Dodge Viper STR10 can improve their drifting potential even further with custom tunes. These can be purchased from the "Tunes" menu inside the "Cars" or "Creative" tabs from the pause menu.

Most of the time, a top-rated tune or creator will be at the start of the tune selection, but make sure to look at what the name of the build is above the car's picture. This will indicate what it has been crafted for, but most builds for the Hoonicorn and Dodge Viper will be for drifting.

Players can buy and sell cars from the Autoshow in Forza Horizon 5, with the Formula Drift Dodge Viper, which costs 300,000 Credits. It is also awarded for completing the "Drift Royalty" Accolade, but this requires players to achieve 3 Stars in all Drift Zones. The Hoonigan Ford "Hoonicorn" Mustang can be purchased for 500,000 Credits.

If players need some quick money, and they have some Car Mastery Skill Points to spare, they can unlock Super Wheelspins in their cars. Vehicles can also be won in these spins, so if players are lucky, they could even win the Hoonicorn or Dodge Viper in addition to some extra cash.

Best Drift Car Forza Horizon 5

The BMW Issetta 300 is a little more unique when it comes to drifting. It's one of the slowest and smallest cars in the game and is really only useful for smashing hard-to-reach areas containing a bonus board in Forza Horizon 5.

When properly tuned, however, the BMW Issetta is the best drift car in the game. Without much effort, players will be achieving 3 Stars in Forza Horizon 5 Drift Zones. Due to it only having 3 wheels, if players hold the handbrake while drifting around corners, they will be able to rack up an insane Skill Chain. The only challenge lies in how well players can control the microcar when attempting to keep a high drift score without crashing.

The BMW Issetta only costs 45,000 Credits in Forza Horizon 5, but an ideal tune can set players back a little more, at around 100,000 - 150,000 Credits.

Forza Horizon 5 is now available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
