Forza Horizon 5 is getting ready to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary with a huge batch of new content, including cars, events, customization options, and a special mixtape. With four previous entries in the Horizon series of Forza titles, developer Playground Games is aiming to dedicate an entire season's worth of content to mark the special occasion.

While Playground Games announced that there would be a festival update of some sort to celebrate the series' 10th anniversary in Forza Horizon 5, the specifics of the event weren't clear up until now. For newcomers to the franchise, both Forza Horizon 4 and 5 will be getting special discounts of 67% and 30% off, respectively. Those who are already intimately familiar with the latest release will, however, have an opportunity to earn a wealth of unique rewards.

The 10th-anniversary celebration will kick off on Forza Horizon 5's next weekly reset, on October 11, and will remain available over the next four weeks, for the duration of the entire season. Players will then have the opportunity to jump into Horizon Origins, an all-new Story that will go for a ride down memory lane that ends with unlocking the unique Dodge SRT Viper GTS inspired by the original Forza Horizon's cover car. The Horizon Street Scene is also getting a 16-race expansion that's bolstered further with the addition of unique Midnight Battle races, each of which comes with its own unique vehicle for players to chase after.

Much like the previous major Forza Horizon 5 seasonal update, this one too comes with its own set of unique new cars, customizations, and other assorted content. Some prominent examples include an unlockable Horizon Mixtape featuring music from the previous Forza Horizon games, a thematic revamp of the game's open world that will change every week, and 22 entirely new ADV.1 rims to customize all the new cars.

As its focus lies primarily on highlighting the look and feel of all the previous FH games, the 10-year anniversary update will be a perfect addition for players who might not be overly interested in interacting with Forza Horizon 5's Hot Wheels DLC. The full list of additions, fixes, and changes is rather hefty indeed, and it's unlikely to leave anyone wanting.

In fact, Playground Games is taking this opportunity to substantially expand Forza Horizon 5's list of the fastest cars on the market. Cars such as the legendary Ferrari 599XX and the Koenigsegg Agera will be making their debut in FH5 over the course of the next couple of weeks, which is bound to thrill both fans of the old Horizon games and those who might never have driven these vehicles before.

Forza Horizon 5 is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
