While battle royale tends to get more love than Save the World, Fortnite is making it clear that it's not ignoring the PvE component altogether. Now, purchasable V-Buck Llamas are receiving a major change and being turned into X-Ray Llamas. This means that players who want one can see what they will receive before actually purchasing the llama.

Coming in update v7.30, this major shake-up follows various updates to collect items such as loot drops, Llama dupe prevention, and gameplay-based event rewards. This major step allows Fortnite players to know what they're buying beforehand, and if they decide they do not care for it, they can simply wait until the next daily store refresh.

As a result of this major change, there are a few minor but important aspects to note. Llama prices do not change, even when the llama upgrades, and can still be earned through gameplay. Any item can come from the cheapest llama, meaning that players can find what they're looking for at the cheapest price. It's worth noting that the items offered via this method are based on the player account as a way to prevent llama replication.

One major change is that players will not be able to purchase multiple X-Ray Llamas at once. This change is so that players can see the reward of each Llama one at a time and make the most fiscally beneficial decision. It must be noted, though, that Mini Llamas and event Llamas are not X-Ray llamas, meaning they can still be bulk opened without an even more repetitive and grindy process.

Taking all of this into consideration, it seems like a smart change to Fortnite's Save the World mode. To try out this new system, all Save the World players will also receive 5 free Llama Upgrade Tokens and can make their own decisions about the system as a result. Understandably, this may have been one of the changes planned prior to the Save the World Mode going Free-to-Play, yet a date for this change has not been confirmed.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
