IN addition to the superhero themed season 4 of Fortnite Battle Royale, Epic Games surprised a lot of people by teaming up with Marvel to introduce a special limited time event called Infinity Gauntlet. Randomly during a match, the Infinity Gauntlet falls from the sky, turning the first player to grab it into the Mad Titan himself, Thanos. While Thanos has his own special moves and health meter, players have discovered that they're able to use emotes as him, which has quickly turned into a meme around the internet.

This latest internet obsession involves users inserting Fortnite Thanos performing any of the emotes currently available int he game, and editing him into existing Marvel movies. While some players have taken the opportunity to just insert Thanos in for the fun of it, some video editors have gone a step further to match up the emote to whatever is happening at that point in the movie. During the last sequence in Guardians of the Galaxy, Peter "Star Lord" Quill starts a dance battle with antagonist, Ronan The Accuser. The Fortnite edit features a dancing Thanos in the background, nearly matching Peter Quill move for move.

Naturally, the meme doesn't stop there. In another creative edit from the first Avengers movie, the group of superheroes are standing around in a circle looking at the wreckage caused to New York City by Loki's attack. As the camera pans around the group, Thanos has also been added to the group, eating popcorn and looking in awe that he actually made it into the movie.

With the mode around for only a limited time, it seems many players would rather use the time to make Thanos do things that are simply out of character for him. Combined with the recently released replay mode, players have found other interesting ways to show off creative moments with Thanos. Instead of posting a video, a Redditor took a screenshot of a normal player character standing and using the Popcorn emote fairly close to Thanos as he blasts his opponents with the Power Stone.

Considering that the game has just kicked off Season 4, players have begun to find new secrets hidden around the revised map including a familiar looking hatch. Naturally, these discoveries have only served to whip the fanbase into a frenzy of speculation, trying to figure out what sort of other crossovers Epic may be planning.

Fortnite is available now in early access for iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
