Following the success of the crossover between Fortnite and Marvel during Chapter 2, Epic Games has continued to work with Marvel to add more exciting content to the hit battle royale game. This includes skins like Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, with Spider-Man’s web shooters also being in-game items for a time. Speaking of the webhead, the hero recently had yet another skin added to the game.

Unlike the No Way Home outfits or the comic-inspired looks for the wallcrawler, this outfit is a fully original creation. It serves as a tie-in to the new Fortnite and Marvel crossover comic Zero War, which sees Spidey donning the flashy armored costume. While players were able to unlock the outfit with some codes for purchasing the first issue, and can currently buy it within the item shop, it would be great to see it make another appearance within Spider-Man’s next solo game.

The Potential of a Fortnite and Marvel’s Spider-Man Crossover

Assuming that the suit lineup in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 focuses on introducing fully new suits instead of bringing back previous ones, the Zero War costume would make a great replacement for the Spider Armor Mark 3. The two boast similar designs, with Fortnite’s Zero War costume mainly differing in its usage of the color blue and the unique eye pattern on Spidey’s helmet. Most fans would agree that the outfit is aesthetically pleasing, so having another gorgeous suit to swing around with in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be fun enough on its own.

However, as Marvel’s Spider-Man fans know, the costumes in Insomniac’s games come with unique suit abilities. These have allowed players to mimic Miles Morales in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man and wield the Iron Spider legs, and assuming that the next game brings back this mechanic, the Zero War suit could have a truly unique suit ability. The suit could allow players to build items like in Fortnite, and while this building mechanic could be limited to some silly finishing moves, it would be a lot of fun to see the costume’s origins referenced via a Fortnite-inspired suit ability.

However, this crossover could work both ways, with the iconic Advanced Suit from Marvel’s Spider-Man also ending up in Fortnite. Considering that Fortnite has already crossed over with Uncharted, Horizon, and God of War, it would not be shocking for another PlayStation exclusive franchise to get some representation on The Island. Further, Spider-Man already has so many skins in Fortnite that Insomniac’s Advanced Suit and its white spider symbol would fit right in, serving as one of many stylish options for players to pick from.

Fortnite’s Zero War Suit Could Open The Door To Spidey Skins From Other Games

The collection of suits in the original Marvel’s Spider-Man was not afraid to pull from all sides of Spider-Man media, with suits from every live action adaptation and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse being included. With the sequel, it would be nice to see costumes from other video games added to help expand the roster. Fortnite’s Zero War skin could open the door to this concept, with costumes from other games following suit.

Spidey’s unique suit from Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a possible costume, with its potential suit ability providing a limited form of turn-based combat. Marvel’s Avengers’ Spider-Man suit could also make an appearance, and its suit ability could poke fun at that game’s slow swinging and traversal. Of all the original looks for Spidey in recent video games, though, the Zero War costume will likely become the most popular. As such, it should lead the charge, serving as the first of many Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 costumes pulled from other video games.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
