Epic Games' Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 story trailer introduces the Zero Point. The latest season also introduces several new map locations, in addition to a crossover skin that should surprise plenty of Fortnite fans.

Those who were able to drop in for the Fortnite Galactus Event saw the culmination of Season 4's Marvel-based Nexus War. Players found themselves teaming up with Iron Man, Thor, and Wolverine to finally take down the world-eating Galactus.

The trailer shows Agent Jonesy has clearly been busy during all of the chaos surrounding the villain's arrival. The roughly 90-second trailer sees Jones hiding behind a desk, until a phone rings. He's then tasked with going into the now-exposed Zero Point in order to ensure no one escapes from the Loop. He drops the phone, but players hear a very interesting line from the other end, "And do not draw the attention of the seven." The rest of the trailer sees the agent try to locate the best hunters across different realities, then diving into the Zero Point, back into the island. The final seconds give a visual confirmation that Fortnite is adding none other than The Mandalorian's Mando and Baby Yoda.

Epic Games looks to be shaking up many things for the latest season of its popular Battle Royale title. In addition to Din Djarin, Fortnite's official website states that even more hunters from "realities beyond" will be recruited. Players can actually now do some recruiting of their own. Season 5 introduces gold bars as a form of in-match currency. These bars can be used throughout the map to acquire weapon upgrades, intel, and allies - just to name a few. Season 5 also introduces several new weapons, including The Mandalorian's Amban sniper rifle, Dragon's Breath shotgun, and Night Hawk. New map changes also means new hunting grounds for players. Another new thing Epic is introducing is the Fortnite Crew subscription service, where monthly subscribers will get the Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks, and exclusive cosmetics.

The new elements being brought into the Fortnite meta should satisfy players who feel the game has gotten stale. The ambivalence of pulling characters from different realities really opens the door for any character to appear in the game. The focus on hunters, varied new weapons and gold bar system should keep players well engaged into 2021. While some may argue that other Battle Royale games have surpassed in popularity, the more than 15 million concurrent players during the Galactus event speaks otherwise.

However, not everyone will see these new changes as a good sign. A portion of Fortnite players long for the restoration of older map locations and other aspects of the game. Luckily, veteran players will be glad to know that Season 5 is bringing back Tilted Towers, with one big change.

Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
