Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is finally here and with are a new set of challenges and discoveries. The theme this season is Top Secret with several spy-like missions hidden throughout the map. Some challenges include deciding which team of spies, Ghost vs Shadow, to side with in order to change the map forever. However, for gamers who want to level up without being at the mercy of Henchmen or other players collecting XP coins are the way to level up more quickly.

The first thing to know about the XP coins this season is that they are not all the same. In the previous season, coins appeared throughout the map but there was a glitch where it didn't show players actually gaining any experience points until leaving matches. In a recent patch at the beginning of season 2, not only were the coin glitches fixed, they now got an updated look.

Coins are typically easy to find, but each coin may come with its own challenges depending on rarity. All coins appear to have the same rarity rankings as guns within the game. As always, be wary of other players in the area before running through, and make sure players have at least one gun before entering enclosed areas.

Green Coins - More common and scattered throughout the map. Player will gain 450 XP

Blue Coins - These are slightly rarer coins and doll out around 600-800 experience points.

Purple Coins - These coins are tricky as soon as players cross through them they will explode into fragments in the surrounding area. Each Purple Coin fragment is about 125 XP but can collect up to 1250 XP in varying iconic landmark locations.

Gold/Orange Coins - These are the rarest coins on the map and can typically be found in certain vault locations at the moment. These are the hardest to find but are also the ones that deal the most experience points, topping out at 2,000 points per coin. The pattern of legendary coins seems to be whenever a new battle pass skin releases, the location of the skin coincides with the vault location.

At the moment Reddit user TheSquattingDog has released a map of where to find each coin. Luckily, Squating Dog also provided a color-coding system so players can target which level of coins they wish to tackle first. Gamers should keep in mind that once a coin is collected off the map, it will no longer be found in the same location twice.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is out now and can be played on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
