Musicians finding their way into Fortnite is nothing new for the game, with everything from skins to full-blown concerts for players to enjoy in-game. The general focus from Epic Games, though, has been put on modern pop music and riding the hottest names at the time, whether it be Ariana Grande or Travis Scott. However, if a new report is true, the next batch of musician skins coming to the game may be honoring one of the greatest hip hop groups to come out of New York City in the early 1990s - The Wu-Tang Clan.

Fortnite has been going strong for almost five years since the battle royale launched as a stand-alone option from the original game, meant to be a horde mode-style cooperative game with a focus on base building. The game's current season, Resistance, saw building temporarily taken away from the main mode before its popularity led Epic to keep no building as its own option. Some skins players have been able to get their hands on this season include Marvel characters like Doctor Strange and The Prowler, along with lore-centric options like The Imagined and The Origin.

As for the rumored batch of skins, Fortnite leaker Shiina posted on Twitter that Epic Games would be adding "one of the most influential Hip-Hop groups of all time" to the game in the coming days. They said there would be two options when the skins released but did not say if there would be additional cosmetics available.

Shiina then referenced a post from Mexican Fortnite player and leaker Fercho who, on their own account, said the skins would be of the Wu-Tang Clan.

The Wu-Tang Clan, as stated above, is widely regarded in the hip-hop community as one of the greatest groups of all time, alongside the likes of N.W.A., Public Enemy, and Run-D.M.C. The group, hailing from Staten Island, New York, debuted in 1992 to widespread critical acclaim with the album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). One of the things that set the group apart was their love of '70s and '80s kung fu films, which was reflected in their lyrics and oftentimes saw them splicing in audio from films into songs, such as the opening of Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta F' Wit.

If Shiina's leak is true, Epic Games isn't going to have a shortage of choices, either. Members of the Wu-Tang Clan include RZA, GZA, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Raekwon, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, and the late ODB, most of who saw solo success on top of the group's achievements. That said, players shouldn't be surprised if RZA and Method Man are the two Epic decided to go with as they are the two most widely recognized members thanks to success on TV and film to go along with their music careers.

Fortnite is currently available on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
