Some Fortnite players are creating a very interesting stand-off in the battle royale, courtesy of the Marvel crossover event currently going on. One of the latest Marvel Fortnite bosses is Wolverine, who some players have decided is destined to fight Iron Man in the game.

The Fortnite crossover with Marvel has been going on for over a month, and players have had the chance to see some of their favorite Marvel superheroes and villains make an appearance in the cartoony-styled battle royale. When Wolverine was added to the game as a boss, some players really wanted to see him fight Iron Man. The only problem is, the two characters are located on complete opposite sides of the map.

The characters' lack of proximity hasn't been a problem for some particularly creative Fortnite players. If a player shoots Wolverine, the skilled hunter will chase them for as long as he can before either or he or the player is defeated. That has led some intrepid players to bait Wolverine into chasing them across the map, avoiding getting killed by the member of the X-Men, and lead Wolverine to Stark Industries, where Iron Man is located in Fortnite.

This is a very daunting task given how intense of a boss Wolverine is in Fortnite, so it's definitely a lot harder than it sounds to lead Wolverine all the way across the mask while avoiding his attacks. Some players have resorted to driving instead of running while leading the Marvel boss, using one of the cars Epic recently added to Fortnite. This will spur the hero into a sprint, but he can't be lost even if the player drives the car as fast as they possibly can.

Why players are dead set on Wolverine fighting Iron Man in particular is unclear, but perhaps the great distance and tricky chase give some players a sense of completing a difficult challenge. Who knows, if another Marvel superhero or villain were on the other side of the map, maybe the game would be filled with players goading Wolverine into fighting that character instead. Or maybe players want someone to distract Iron Man/Tony Stark while they break into the Stark Industries Vault.

Whatever the reason, at least players are having fun with this event, although if they're not busy getting Wolverine or Iron Man to eliminate each other, they can defeat Wolverine himself and gain access to his famed metal claws.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices, with plans for PS5 and Xbox Series X support as each console launches.
