Last week, Epic Games and People Can Fly released a major update to Fortnite Battle Royale to help players celebrate the Lunar New Year. In addition to several Lunar New Year themed skins for players to collect, the update also introduced Shrines, which are locations on the game's map that contain treasure chests with useful items.

With the update having been available for a few days, Fortnite Battle Royale players have begun to note down these Shrine locations. Thankfully, these attentive fans have decided to share a map of Shrine locations with the community for everyone to make use of.

According to the below map that was shared on social media, there are seven Shrines on the map for Fortnite Battle Royale players to loot. These are located to the east Pleasant Park, there are Shrines to the north and to the west of Tomato Town, there's another Shrine on the west side of the Lonely Lodge, one Shrines is to the south-east of Tilted Towers, there's one to the north-east of Fatal Fields, and finally, there's a Shrine right on the southern edge of the map below Fatal Fields.

The Shrine locations are just spread out enough that players who don't like to go to heavily populated locations (e.g Tilted Towers) can head to the Shrines to find loot. Many Fortnite players have also made the argument that this could significantly shake each matchup. If every player thinks it's a good idea to head to the Shrines in order to avoid other players then the action will be more spread out and therefore more unpredictable. That could make for some exciting games, even if it will make it harder to beat those Fortnite kill records.

According to comments made by players on social media, these Shrines are spawning up to as many as three treasure chests. Given several other players have also begun to boast about the gold loot they've managed to unlock in these chests, it just confirms that visiting a Shrine is worth a player's while.

Like the Christmas trees that were introduced as part of the Fortnite holiday update, the Lunar New Year Shrines are likely a limited time only deal meaning that players will have to make the most of them now, before the event ends and they are removed from the game. The Fortnite team is planning plenty of future updates, including more limited time game modes, but for now, fans should enjoy the Shrines before they're gone.

Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
