A new set of Fortnite challenges means players have some new tasks to complete. But to unlock the rest of the missions, some earlier ones have to be finished first including a task to defy authority with a new mechanic added in Chapter 2.

The 8-Ball vs Scratch Missions are the next part of the Overtime Challenges ending Chapter 2 Season 1 sometime in February, and completing the requirements will reward players with the final style for the 8-Ball outfit in a gold and black coloration. Along the way, every successful task will also give 52,000 XP to help level up the Fortnite Battle Pass while unlocking the next challenge. These objectives involve using weapons or visiting several locations like one mission to swim at two "No Swimming" signs on the map.

No Swimming Sign Locations

Fortunately, there are many places with "No Swimming" signs and players only need to pick two of the eligible waterfalls, beaches, and dams. With the distance between some of them, however, it might take a few matches to finish the challenge. The locations on the Chapter 2 map are noted below.

  1. Crashed Cargo beach west of Sweaty Sands
  2. The top of Gorgeous Gorge waterfall northeast of Lazy Lake
  3. The bottom of Gorgeous Gorge waterfall northeast of Lazy Lake
  4.  Above the Hydro 16 dam west of Slurpy Swamp
  5. Camp Cod beach southeast of Misty Meadows

After arriving, simply hop into the water and swim around in Fortnite to get credit for that spot. Players taking a dip around the waterfall or dam should be careful to not go over the edge and stick a bad landing. Note that it's unconfirmed whether the two Gorgeous Gorge waterfall spots are separate locations due to their close proximity.

Compared to other Fortnite challenges, this one is much simpler because combat isn't necessary for completion. With multiple locations situated away from major points of interest, players shouldn't run into a firefight unless it's a rare case. Even if someone wants to pick a fight, it's a perfectly viable option to swim around dodging shots and then run away like a fish out of water.

For now, swimming at "No Swimming" signs and the other 8-Ball vs Scratch missions will keep most players busy for another week or two. However, the end of Season 1 and the start of Chapter 2 Season 2 next month is sure to bring new changes that will excite even the most tired of fans.

Fortnite is available for the PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Android, and iOS.
