Fortnite has partnered yet again with the Epic-made social app Houseparty. This trivia-app-turned-chat is now being used to facilitate video chatting with friends in Fortnite. In order to get more Fortnite fans on the Houseparty bandwagon, Epic is offering a free wrap to players that use Houseparty.
This isn't the first time that Fortnite has tried to get fans to connect with the Houseparty app; back in Spring of 2020 after the acquisition and partnership started, Fortnite offered wraps for players just by playing Trivia through the social mobile application. But now that it is being used for video chatting for Fortnite, the Houseparty app is once again giving away free stuff to get players interested in it.
The Wrap
The free wrap this time around is a Rainbow Fog wrap. It's a swirl of psychedelic rainbow colors that celebrates the new ability to add video chatting to Fortnite. The swirl of pinks, yellows, and blues go well with just about any weapon and even Choppas.
The Houseparty app integrates live video chatting into PC, PS4, or PS5's versions of Fortnite, allowing players to see their teammates and friends while digging into the Marvel-themed Fortnite crossover content. So anyone that has one of those three platforms will be able to earn the free Rainbow Fog wrap just by downloading the application through iOS Apple App Store or the Android App Store onto their phones, then connecting to Fortnite.
To start the process, players should make an account on Houseparty, and connect to Fortnite in the settings menu. Once Houseparty and Fortnite are connected, players will be rewarded with the free wrap. Then players can feel free to add some friends and start chatting in-game, or not.
If players don't have a PS4, PS5, or PC that they play Fortnite on, there's no need to worry. Xbox and Switch players can still nab this free wrap by playing five matches with friends between Friday, November 20 at 9 PM PT and Thursday, November 26 at 9 AM PT. After the fifth match is played, players will get the wrap in their inventory. It will give everyone a chance to destroy some Stark robots in Fortnite with their friends and earn some XP.
With everything going on between Epic and Apple suing and counter-suing each other, it's a surprise that the Houseparty app will be running through the a mobile application that relies on the Apple Store and Android store. There is no mention of whether or not mobile Fortnite players will be able to get this free wrap, but hopefully they too can get one just by playing five matches, just like Xbox and Switch players.
Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
