Ever since it was revealed that Season 8 would start at the end of February, many Fortnite lovers have wondered how developer Epic Games would pass the time between the two seasons, given that season 7 is effectively over two weeks beforehand. Now, we know that Valentine's Day Share The Love event will not only span this time period, but also it will introduce new Overtime Challenges to keep its player base active over the next few weeks.

This new Share The Love event begins on February 8 and will run through February 27, giving players new opportunities to snag new rewards, skins, and more. First up, for Fortnite players who support a creator or enter a creator code between February 8 -22 will get a special wrap dubbed the Cuddle Hearts when update v7.40 releases. Also, on the weekends on February 15-17 and February 22-24, players will receive double XP as a way to help sum up that Battle Pass. The Featured Island is also set to rotate every single day in Fortnite Creative as a way to show love toward the community of creators.

Building off of all that, this event is also introducing a new set of challenges called the Overtime Challenges. They will be added once the v7.40 update goes live and will give players new rewards such as a Valentine Wrap and Vines Contrails. Perhaps the most notable addition are new Valentine's Day-related styles for the Trog, Powder, and Onesie skins–all for Battle Pass owners, of course.

Moreover, this event will feature its own Share the Love Competitive series with placement matches occurring on February 9-10 for 4 different divisions. Then, the Champion Division Finals are set to take place on February 23-24. With all of these additions coming in at the tail end of the season, Fortnite players may want to hurry and wrap up everything related to season 7 week 10, so they can focus on the Overtime Challenges and everything this event has to offer.

All things considered, this will hopefully keep Fortnite players busy until the launch of season 8. Considering there's a little something for everyone in this Share The Love event, it seems like a good way to pass the time before getting back to the nitty-gritty.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
