Fortnite Chapter 2 was a huge landmark in the history of Epic's Battle Royale. With a completely new map, a new progression system, swimming, and fishing, the update revitalized the smash-hit shooter. Since then, Fortnite's second chapter has been through two new Seasons, each bringing a fresh host of changes to both the map and game-play.

One of the most popular new features is Loot Vaults, which first appeared in Chapter 2 Season 2. Vaults are well-defended treasure troves which can be found at various Points of Interest across the map, and are some of the best spots to grab early loot. The vaults are normally filled with high-tier weaponry, which can set a player up for the rest of the game. Unfortunately, getting into them isn't exactly easy.

A Subtle Method

Opening a vault requires players to find the nearby keycard, which can involve tangling with a lot of NPC enemies. On top of this, the popularity of vaults means that other players are also likely to be around. Having to deal with both player and NPC enemies at once is a recipe for disaster. This, coupled with the fact that there is currently no other way to unlock a vault, means that going for them is a risky prospect.

Fortunately, players have now figured out a way to sneak into The Authority's loot vault without having to find a keycard. The method was revealed by YouTuber Glitch King, who has a reputation for finding clever Fortnite exploits. With his technique players can find their way into the vault using just a Choppa, an Upgrade Bench, and a friend's assistance.

Planning the Heist

Players who want to use the glitch will first need to find a Choppa, before making their way to The Authority POI. Facing the building from its south-east corner, they will then need to destroy the second tile from the right, as well as the nearby feature containing a bush. Once these are destroyed, land the Choppa in front of the broken area and switch to the outer seat.

With that done, surround both the Choppa and the broken tile with walls, with both players inside. Finally, the second player should use the Upgrade Bench under the Choppa. If all steps were followed correctly, then the resulting glitch should propel the first player directly into the vault.

Fortnite is available for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
