Any gamer who is even remotely familiar with Fortnite is likely aware the title is second-to-none when it comes to adding skins and cosmetics from other IPs, whether it be real-life celebrities, books, or other video games. This signature trend continues today, with the addition of Uncharted's Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer.

Epic Games' ever-popular free-to-play battle royale title is entering the final few weeks of its first Chapter 3 season. The new season has seen a litany of major changes to the game, including the introduction of a sliding mechanic, extreme weather in the form of lightning and tornadoes, an array of new items, and more. Fortnite's recent 19.30 patch adds even more significant updates, like new controller format options and the removal of the Game Mode Select screen, taking players straight to the Battle Royale Mode lobby.

Detailed in a post on the official Fortnite website, starting today players can purchase the Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer Outfits, which both come with skin styles. For Nathan Drake, the treasure-hunting protagonist includes the version portrayed by Spider-Man actor Tom Holland in the upcoming Uncharted feature film, as well as how he appears in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The Chloe Frazer Outfit includes her appearance in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and two variants based on the movie. The treasure hunters brought some accessories with them, including the Second Hand Saber Pickaxe, Parashurama Axe Pickaxe, and the Update Journal Emote.

The arrival of the Uncharted characters comes after weeks of prominent rumors. The first sign Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer were most likely arriving on Fortnite's island came when notable leaker and dataminer HYPEX revealed on February 1 that an "Uncharted Treasure Map" was found in the game's files to go live on Week 11. Fortnite confirms this detail, with the maps going live February 18 at 9 AM EST. As far as what they're used for, Drake's Maps will guide players towards some extremely valuable buried treasure which, according to HYPEX, contains four legendary weapons, four "good" heals, 270 mixed mats, "so much" ammo, and 100 Gold.

The launch of Fortnite's Uncharted crossover skins comes a mere day after the game launched two other new pieces of content: Level Up Quest Packs and the NBA 75 All-Star Hub. The Level Up Quest Packs are a unique new offering, giving players a total of 28 specialized quests over the course of four weeks, where the completion of each individual quest increases the player an entire level. The NBA 75 All-Star Hub lets players shoot hoops to earn the High Hoops Spray, and allows gamers to vote for the next in-game Emote.

With Fortnite quickly approaching its five-year anniversary, many other battle royale titles have popped up in the years since, with some claiming titles like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends have surpassed Epic Games' original title. However, if the NFL referring to The Rock as "Guy from Fortnite" after his Super Bowl appearance is any metric, Fortnite is as popular as it's ever been.

Fortnite is free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
