Ever since Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 began at the end of last week, data miners have been busy poring over new game files and searching for clues about what the future may hold for Epic Games' extremely-popular shooter. One of the things that these data miners have uncovered is a direct reference to rapper Travis Scott, which has led some fans to wonder if an in-game event with the musician may be forthcoming.

The reference to Scott in the Fortnite game files specifically suggests that a cosmetic set inspired by the rapper is coming to the game at some point down the road. Very likely, this means that at least a Travis Scott skin will eventually be available in Fortnite, but it is also possible that there is a much bigger collaboration in the works. Exactly what this collaboration could be is currently unknown, but Epic Games does have a history of working with musicians to create special Fornite events.

Last February, for instance, electronic music producer Marshmello performed a live concert in-game, and perhaps there is something similar planned with Scott. Certainly, the Marshmello Fortnite event was a huge moment for the game, breaking concurrent player count records, and a concert from Scott has the potential to be even bigger. Notably, Marshmello's collaboration also brought a new skin to Fortnite, giving some credence to the theory that there is more than a simple Travis Scott cosmetic planned.

That said, it is certainly possible that a new Fortnite skin is all that Epic Games and Scott are currently working on together. While that would not be quite as exciting as a full-blown, in-game concert, some fans would still be happy to pickup such a cosmetic, and it seems likely that they will be able to do so in the not-so-distant future.

With respect to other things that have been discovered in the updated game files, references to a brand new Fortnite emote type were unearthed just days ago. As with the potential collaboration with Scott, there are not a ton of definitively confirmed details available about these new emotes, though players will likely get access to them before Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 comes to an end.

Fortnite is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
