Epic Games' battle royale Fortnite is an international sensation that constantly expands upon its success by partnering up with various other properties and figures in popular culture. One of the biggest examples of this was a tie-in with Disney's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that let players see a scene not in the film prior to its release late last year.

However another huge draw to the game was a concert held by EDM artist and DJ Marshmello in February 2019 that hosted over 10 million players according to entertainment news sites like The Verge. Fortnite is preparing to hold another concert that datamining says will feature Travis Scott, a rapper and record producer likely most widely recognizable for the song SICKO MODE from the 2018 album Astroworld. A 17-year-old Fortnite player and YouTuber from Spain named Ento posted pictures of the apparent construction site for this upcoming concert to Twitter early this morning.

Ento found the construction site on a small island between Sweaty Sands and The Shark, which is generally in-line with what those prior datamine leaks suggested would be the case. A number of other things related to the upcoming concert have also been found, including a special Travis Scott character skin.

Recently Fortnite players have seen a host of content and events appearing throughout the game that are a crossover with Marvel's superhero Deadpool. Not only can they unlock outfit sets based on the popular crude, fourth-wall breaking character, but they can also purchase an X-Force Bundle for 3,000 V-Bucks to look like Cable, Psylocke, and other Marvel heroes.

It's currently unclear whether the upcoming (yet still unannounced) Travis Scott concert will be as big a splash for Epic Games as the Marshmello one was last year. Since then Fortnite has seen a bumpy community response to its second season of content, with #RIPFortnite trending on Twitter because of players discontent with the game.

That said there was a more positive fan outpouring in the aftermath of that social media moment, so time will tell how this new concert will perform. The one thing anyone can truly speculate on for now is that Fortnite will undoubtedly continue its dominance in the world of video games so long as its popularity nets big events like concerts and crossovers with Disney properties.

Fortnite is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
