Progressively more crossovers have made their way to Fortnite over the years, and the latest collaboration has WWE's John Cena coming to the item shop. Accompanying his addition to the game, Fortnite released a trailer showing John Cena entering the battle royale as if it were a WWE ring.

The 16-time world champion John Cena is the first WWE superstar to be added to Fortnite's item shop, and the skin features one of his trademark tees and a shirtless variant. Being an active WWE wrestler for over twenty years and among the top of the roster for a significant chunk of that time, several Fortnite fans had anticipated his addition to the battle royale. On top of being able to play Fortnite as John Cena now, players will also have access to a new Harvesting Tool and Back Bling related to the WWE.

The Fortnite trailer showing off the John Cena skin parodies his Wrestlemania 25 entrances as the 16-time champion's shadow comes through a smokey door and walks between two lines of bowing Cena's. After reaching the end of the line, John Cena performs his "you can't see me" hand gesture which is also now available as an emote that players can use after defeating their opponents. The trailer proceeds to show John Cena knocking out other popular Fortnite skins with a flex, and the True Love and Finger Guns emotes, with some eliminations fittingly occurring in a wrestling ring.

On top of the skin with its variant and new emote, Fortnite fans that purchase the John Cena bundle will also receive a harvesting tool shaped like a hand that features Cena's mantra on it as well as a WWE championship belt that can be equipped by non-wrestling skins if players ever thought that Jonesy deserved to be champion. This isn't the first time John Cena's likeness has been included in Fortnite as one of the cosmetics because he's appeared as the DC comics character Peacemaker; added back in Chapter 3 Season 1. It's currently unclear if Fortnite intends to add more WWE skins to the battle royale, but Cena may have been one of the most requested wrestlers based on his popularity.

The announcement of John Cena joining the Fortnite roster caused many players, including lapsed ones, to express their enthusiasm for the WWE superstar. Multiple responses to the Fortnite John Cena trailer celebrated the quality of the video, while others referenced the wrestler's ability to remain unseen and how that may be an unfair disadvantage for players that buy the skin.

Fortnite is available now for mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
