Chapter 2, Seaosn 4 of Fortnite was another massive one as it featured a big crossover with Marvel. Iconic comic book characters like Wolverine, Thor, Iron Man, and many more were brought into the game each with their own powers as well. Ultimately, the season led to a massive conflict with Galactus, ultimately causing the situation players now find themselves in with Season 5. Even though the Marvel-specific season is concluded, Epic isn't quite done yet with the brand.

After numerous teases and hints, Epic Games has finally added Black Panther to the world of Fortnite. In what appears to be small tribute to the passing of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman, the short in-game trailer shows the comic book version appearing before a crowd of gathering characters. Following his appearance on top of the Panther statue, the various Fortnite and Marvel characters give King T'Challa the iconic Wakandian Salute.

Along with the popular character, players can also get access to two additional Marvel characters in a new in-store bundle called the Royalty and Warriors pack. At the end of the trailer, both Taskmaster and Captain Marvel are also shown as being included. In addition to three new characters, players are also getting new themed gliders, pickaxes, back bling, and a special skydiving trail. Better yet, fans don't have to wait to pick up these new skins as they're currently available right now inside of the Fortnite in-game store for $24.99.

Based on recent teases, the Black Panther reveal shouldn't be too surprising. Just a few days ago, Epic even released the Wakandian Forever emote completely free for all players. The emote launched alongside a series of quests, which essentially tasked players with playing 10 matches, outlast 500 opponents and play in 5 duo or squad matches. At the end of the quest line, the Wakanda Forever emote would unlock.

Other hints at a Black Panther addition came during last season with the addition of the monument that was added to the game as a way to commemorate Chadwick Boseman. Players used the site as a way to say thank you to the actor and to pay their respects. For a time, players even opted not to fight in this location either, so those who wanted to, could pay their respects in peace and without fear of being taken out. Without question, this bundle is likely going to be pretty popular and likely result in tons of Black Panthers running around during matches.

Fortnite is free-to-play for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.
