To continue competing with an increasing amount of competition like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, Epic Games continues to evolve the Fortnite Battle Royale experience on a weekly basis. Players have seen plenty of new gear, skins, and game modes come and go over the past year, and with Season 6 slowly nearing an end, it appears even more interesting content is around the corner. While this week's update adds plenty of new content for players to check out, it also includes an interesting new revolver which may look very familiar to longtime Destiny fans.

In this week's 6.30 patch notes for Fortnite, Epic Games reveals one of the new weapon additions as the Last Word revolver. A mid-range specialist, the gun carries a limited magazine but deals increased headshot damage. When aiming down the sights, the weapon is slow and precise, but players can use its secondary ability to fan the hammer to rapidly fire a damaging spray of bullets. Interested Fortnite players will be able to obtain this weapon from the Save the World event store starting on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 PM EST until Wednesday, November 21 at 7 PM EST.

What's interesting is that this gun not only carries the same name as a very popular hand cannon from the first Destiny, but it looks similar and has many of the same traits as well. Its Destiny counterpart was also known for its Fan Fire ability, which also gave the weapon improved stability and target acquisition. Even though Destiny 2 fans are still waiting for Bungie to bring back the hand cannon, it appears that players will need to head to Fortnite for the time being to get their fix, whether this inclusion was intentional or just a big coincidence.

Outside of the powerful revolver, update 6.30 also adds a new Food Fight mode, where Battle Royale players fight for Team Pizza or Team Burger by building a fort to protect their mascot while trying to eliminate the opponents'. Adding to the chaos is the new mounted turret weapon, a trap item that players can jump into and use to continuously spray fire over an area. The floor trap has unlimited ammo but will overheat if the trigger is held down too long. For the full list up updates, contents, and fixes, read the patch notes here.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
