Fortnite is continuing to expand its roster of crossover skins, with a few new Marvel outfits coming to the game. While it was great to see Moon Knight and Mr. Knight added alongside the debut of the memorable Disney+ series, Scarlet Witch has stolen the show since she came to the item shop a few days ago.

However, while it is great to see Scarlet Witch in Fortnite as a cosmetic item, it feels like more could be done with Wanda Maximoff. In particular, something like the Thanos LTM could be a great addition to the game. One of the most entertaining ways to promote a film, this Avengers: Infinity War tie-in could serve as an excellent inspiration for a similar mode that allows players to take control of the terrifying Scarlet Witch.

How a Scarlet Witch LTM Could Work

The Infinity Gauntlet LTM saw Fortnite players hunting down the powerful item, with the first player that found it becoming the Mad Titan Thanos. As Thanos, the player had many special abilities, including a powerful punch, a super jump, and an energy blast. He also took a lot more damage, making him a terrifying sight that multiple players had to focus on in order to take down.

This mode would be a great example for a Scarlet Witch LTM to follow, with players needing to find an item - perhaps a photo of Wanda’s kids - to become the Scarlet Witch. Having only one player in the match be Scarlet Witch could make the LTM more memorable, and it would allow Epic Games to give her an array of reality-warping abilities that make her more threatening.

Alongside the ability to fly, Scarlet Witch could be given some telekinesis abilities that allow her to toss everything from cars to trees at other players. Her reality warping powers could force Fortnite players to reload, allowing her to close in and land some devastating melee attacks. She could also replace ranged weapons with grenades or melee weapons, ruining the inventories of her victims and making it difficult for them to fight back. Like Thanos, she could have a ranged energy blast, launching Chaos Magic at enemies.

Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness leans heavily into horror with Scarlet Witch’s scenes, something that an LTM could strive to replicate. Giving the mode some hide and seek mechanics where players need to hide in porta-potties or dumpsters could be entertaining, especially if Wanda has a way to detect nearby enemies. While it is important to make sure that she can be beaten like Thanos, ensuring that her power is on full display would be crucial.

A final touch could see players having a chance to become Doctor Strange if they complete a certain task within the LTM, giving them a fighting chance and making for a magic-focused final showdown. Doctor Strange could have his own abilities, with Epic Games pulling directly from his moveset in the comics and movies to ensure that he plays differently from Wanda. With the assets for Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch already in the game, designing some abilities and rules would be the only thing needed for this LTM to become a reality. Obviously, there is nothing to suggest that such a mode will happen. Still, with Thanos’ LTM being so iconic, it would be fun to see another Marvel-themed mode that delivers a similar experience.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
