In May of last year, Epic Games and Marvel Studios teamed up to bring Thanos into Fortnite's popular battle-royale mode for a limited-time "Infinity Gauntlet" mode following the theatrical release of Avengers: Infinity War. Now, with the sequel movie,  Avengers: Endgame, coming to theaters in a couple of weeks, there's evidence looming that Fortnite will be receiving a sequel appearance of the mad titan in its game as well.

First reported by Skin-Tracker on Twitter (via Game Informer), recent datamining suggests the popular mode from last year will be making a return to Fortnite. Within the text located by Twitter user Skin-Tracker, the last couple of lines in the tweet's second image display the text, "POWER of Thanos." If this revelation were to indicate a return of the mode, odds are it will be coming in the near future, given Avengers: Endgame's impending theatrical release on April 26th.

When last year's limited-run Infinity Gauntlet Event was announced, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared their love of Fortnite, saying they'd jump in to play a few sessions whenever they took breaks from their work on set.

The Infinity Gauntlet mode dropped 100 players on Fortnite's map, only to have the Infinity Gauntlet randomly drop somewhere on the island. Whoever acquired the Gauntlet first would turn into Thanos, with heavily buffed attack powers, increased maximums of the player's health and shields, as well as various new powers to use. If someone died while playing as Thanos, the Infinity Gauntlet would drop for someone else to pick up.

Last year's event that introduced Thanos wasn't just a throwaway mode done by Epic, either. Epic Games made numerous changes to Thanos in the short time he was playable in Fortnite, showing it still wants a perfectly balanced playing field for all participants, regardless of any new features or major updates. While this year's event, should it happen, likely won't introduce a "snap" feature that would eliminate half of the player-base, as some may have speculated last year, knowing there's a more balanced playing field set in place should allow playing as Thanos to feel powerful and enjoyable, while still giving everyone else a fighting chance.

Fortnite is available on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
